The original script for "Unbroken" is now archived at the American Defenders of Bataan and Corregidor Museum. My father, Colonel Benjamin Franklin Guiles (30 years retired) flew B-29's from Saipan/Tinian on 38 missions over Japan in WWII and now has his military memorabilia archived here as well. These include uniforms, a shadow box with earned medals, crew pictures, bombing photos, maps, a family picture, his novel called "Wings, Women and War" and photos of POW camps of which one of the founders of the museum was imprisoned, a photo of Nakajima Musashino airplane factory which he bombed and was later converted to officer housing called Green Park in which we lived in the early 60's, and nose art for other B-29's and much more. Lastly a picture of Colonel Gail Halversen pinning Lt. Colonel insignia on my father as he gave up command of Tempelhof Airport in 1970 to Halversen known as the "Candy Bomber" in the Berlin Airlift. Also 2 poems from Halversen written to my father on canvas scroll. We thank our brave men and women for their service and the freedoms we enjoy because of their bravery and courage under extreme circumstances...
