The Hollywood Roosevelt, located at 7000 Hollywood Boulevard, first opened its doors in May of 1927. Since hosting the First Academy Awards in 1929, The Hollywood Roosevelt has become both a landmark attraction and a popular destination for locals and tourists from around the world. The hotel, which was named after United States President Theodore Roosevelt, was conceived in the Spanish Colonial Revival style.

In its early years, The Hollywood Roosevelt played host to countless icons: Marilyn Monroe, Charlie Chaplin, Clark Gable and Carole Lombard among others. The hotel’s history and fame has lent itself to a legendary reputation, which has inspired movie-makers and film directors to set their movies within the hotel’s storybook backdrop.

In 1988, famed British painter David Hockney completed a multi-million dollar mural painted on the bottom of the Tropicana Pool, which has since been hailed as one of Los Angeles’s greatest artistic and architectural marvels. Both the hotel and the pool have been designated Historic-Cultural Monuments by the City’s Cultural Heritage Commission.

Hospitality, hospitality, hospitality. The HR is the hotel for those who enjoy excellent service. At check in we received a free upgrade, valet service is quick - having our car ready in minutes. The bars in the hotel are amazing, especially the juice bar - serving unique drinks mixed with fresh squeezed fruits and freshly picked herbs. You name your ingredients and they create tailored cocktails. The pool is private with full service drinks and food. I really can't say enough about the hotel. Will only stay there.

From the moment we approached the front desk until still today, the service and care and attention from the staff at this wonderful hotel is first class. We were greeted as if they had been waiting for us, told they had a special room just for us (and it was) how smart! Every employee around greeted us at all times and asked if they could help. And Bri has followed up to send me some lotion I loved while there, that I cannot get anywhere else. They make it look easy to give awesome service. Please stay here when visiting Hollywood. I will stay nowhere else. Thank you!

I love the style of this classic hotel. The staff was very friendly and hospitable at the valet stand and the front desk. My only complaints would be that the bathroom didn't have any ventilation so it got really steamy during showers, and the bathroom door automatically swung shut so we had to use a lamp cord to tie it open to air out. Also the bedposts are dark, 6" shorter than the mattress and stick out horizontally from the mattress by about 6" as well, which of course meant that I banged my shin into them a couple of times.

We went to 25 degrees for burgers and drinks. Everything was good. Then headed up stairs to Spare Room for bowling and drinks. The score keeper was cool. Very 1920s atmosphere. Everything was pricey. $100 per hour for bowing but hey its a 70 year old lane. Valletta was reasonable and they validate part of it when you eat there so worth parking on property.

Went to the pool for drinks and Night Swimming. It was easy to get into. The line seems long but moved quickly. The bartenders were fantastic! Just a heads up there is a service charge included in all the checks. I still tip on top of it but it just means you don't have to tip as much.

We have a great room, pity the kids had to share a bed, we wanted to go for a swim on friday night, but the pool closed at 7pm. On Sunday we wanted to have a swim, during the day, but there was a private pool party! Only allowed to take 1 other person, we are a party of 4. We try for a swim later!
