Earlier this year I was asked to photograph some vintage shoes for a book entitled "Rayne: Shoes for Stars" - For those who don't know this English shoemakers here's some blurb from the book description:

"[Rayne] The business began in the late 19th-century as a theatrical costumier and soon added shoes to its products, with a factory in Bermondsey near the current Fashion & Textile Museum. Early clients included the Ballet Russes and Nijinsky. By the 1920s, members of the British Royal family and aristocracy were clients, and a shop was opened on Bond Street with a new factory based at King's Cross. By 1950, the company had three royal warrants, had supplied shoes for the wedding of Princess Elizabeth (now Queen Elizabeth II) in 1947, and had a strong American presence with Delman Shoes at Bergdorf Goodman, NYC, amongst other locations."

I started off shooting a few pictures for them but this expanded and I ended up shooting around 30% of the books content and also got it's back cover (shown below). If you are near a bookshop you should have a leaf through the book if you like shoes. For more info take a look on Amazon: http://ow.ly/QF5nw

The Frock and Jacket was a fashionable bar in the Lanes in Brighton in the late 1980s and I spent a lot of time hanging around there listening to the latest music in their basement (they always had a good selection of music). Wendy Abbott, photographer and also the fabulous door person there documented the era in photos and now has put them up on Facebook - take a time warp back to late 1980s Brighton and check them out they're great... http://ow.ly/PeFLO (sadly no photos of me :))

In one form or another we've all come across copyright issues these days as it applies to other peoples photos and music/film... but what if copyright suddenly applied to buildings - like the Eiffel Tower or the London Eye and you could be prosecuted for posting pics of them to Facebook? Fantasy? If the laws being put through by the EU parliament go the wrong way - maybe not so much! Read more: http://ow.ly/PeCiD

A fashion portrait of Paula in the walled garden at Preston Manor. Spent an enjoyable afternoon visiting Preston Manor in Brighton while passing through the place the other weekend. While there took this picture on a small camera of long time friend Paula in the walled garden while exploring gardens and house. If you are in the area I recommend a visit. The house is reputedly haunted but I saw no ghosts during my visit. Lot's to see and if you are on a budget the gardens are free (admission only charged if you want to go round the house). Visit Preston Manor's website here to find out more... http://ow.ly/OkYqb

RIP Christopher Lee pictured here with Veronica Carlson who said of working with him: "(He was) a gentleman who I adored, well, I’d looked up to him for so long, I was nervous that he was going to be aloof and unapproachable—he was the EXACT opposite of all that. He was absolutely delightful"

On a more upbeat note here's the current highest resolution panorama - this one is of Mont Blanc and clocks in at 365 Gigapixels - have fun zooming in and finding all the precariously balanced buildings on rock faces and all the other things hidden in this image - http://www.in2white.com/

Please! If you MUST do selfies with a real gun unload it first. Despite many thinking this girl was stupid - I hope she recovers and is ok and learns from the experience. There have been too many lethal selfies recently and things are getting ridiculous (like the Romanian girl who accidentally killed herself trying to take a selfie on top of a moving train). Selfies and being popular on social media JUST aren't worth your life. Consider this before doing anything potentially lethal just to get a few more "likes" - http://on.rt.com/heuuyk
