Warmer weather has arrived, but so has spring allergy symptoms!
The warm breeze blows airborne tree pollen and mould spores around and if you suffer from seasonal allergies these allergens will lead to sneezing, a stuffy nose, congestion, itchy eyes, nose and mouth.
You'll get some relief on rainy or cloudy days, or when there's no wind to make the pollen airborne. When the weather is warm, dry and windy, allergies are likely to become worse.
Your best defense from spring allergies is to keep your doors and windows closed, use allergy filters on your air conditioning unit, wash your clothes and take a shower after you've been exposed to pollen and mould spores, and avoid doing yard work or exercising outdoors on days when pollen counts are high.
Talk to your doctor about treatment options.
Book online at www.prohealthcare.com.au at one of our 5 convenient locations.

Spring is for spring clearing! - declutter your medicine cabinet!
Medications are chemical compounds and over time they break down which leaves them ineffective or even toxic.
For you and your families safety, discard any of the following:
• medications that have passed their expiration date.
• medications that are discolored, dried out, separated, or in any way appear suspect.
• Leftover prescription medications from a previous illness.
• medications which are not in their original container. You may know what they are but others probably won’t and taking the wrong thing by mistake could have devastating consequences.
If you need new prescriptions, book an appointment at Pro Health Care Norwood via online bookings at www.prohealthcare.com.au or phone our reception staff on 8431 5506.

AGPAL Accreditation – August 2017

Congratulations to the team at Pro Health Care Norwood for achieving Accreditation through Australian General Practice Accreditation Limited.

This means that our general practice is committed to a comprehensive program which involves:
• Engaging our whole practice team to review our practice’s systems and processes
• Opening our practice doors to allow a team of independent surveyors to assess how our practice operates
• Assessment of our practice, and achievement of the nationally recognised Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) Standards for general practices, that focus on health care quality and patient safety.

As a member of the community you may be surprised to learn that general practice accreditation is a voluntary process – which means not all practices undergo an independent on-site assessment on a regular basis.

Achievement of AGPAL accreditation reassures you that our doctors and practice team are committed to providing you with high quality health care in a safe environment.

Next time you visit our practice be sure to look out for the AGPAL Accredited General Practice Symbol or our accreditation certificate. Our practice team is proud of this achievement and as part of this process we continuously strive to make quality improvements to better your patient experience.
