Lover of music and a bit of a geek
I started making music in the late 70s. Bought an Arp Odyssey. Played with Tiny Desk Unit. First band to play Washington's 9:30 Club and in fact the last to play at the old location in '95. Wrote music for Impossible Theater a Baltimore political and multimedia company. Performed at BAM in 86, Wrote a piece of music based on sampling in '83 called Whiz Bang a History of Sound. Came to NPR in 1988 and worked for and directed All Things Considered until 2007. Started an online music show for NPR in 2000 called All Songs Considered. Still doing that and loving that.
First band to play 9:30 Club. Director of All Things considered 18 years. Wrote an early piece of electronic music using sampling in 1983. Make great bialy's.
