The GDG exploring BigQuery, we transformed some logs into json from one of the desktops, pushed it up into a bigquery table, and ran some queries against it with the bq tool from the cloud sdk. This is our first taste of bigquery, but we'll likely see more, we love the bigquery idea..

Our first map maker event, we made about 40 contributions, mostly places but also some trails, bicycle routes and roads. We were surprised at how easy map maker is to use, and the types of things one can add.

Managed VM's to bind app engine and compute engine, google git repo with automatic build/test/deploy on commit, github hooks into the deployment tools, completely revamped sdk with cli tab completion, jenkins with multi-language builds, app engine stack trace logs with links that open your repo to the file and line of issue, and a bunch of other stuff, cloud platform just got a whole lot more awesome.

Hi all,

Come join us hack a real world android app. The app will be one that submits traffic offences to: http://m.safelyhome.westerncape.gov.za/reporter
We have asked for an api endpoint for the mobi site, but in the event it is not available, we'll use a mock app engine endpoint to submit against. The app will prompt for the same info which the mobi site prompts, and make http calls to submit an offence. The app will make for a nice hands-on with android, and perhaps something useful if we can motivate for the api with the app as proof of concept once built.

Venue: 88mph, 4th floor, Block A, 66 Albert Woodstock.
