Being a long time lover of Sang Yoon's Father's Office, I was eager to finally try his upscale Asian spot just a few steps away. I had to try it when Father's Office was closed, otherwise I'd be there so I came for lunch. Here's the breakdown of my experience: 4 star service 4 star decor/atmosphere (bright, open, clean, modern) 4 star blood orange papaya made in-house soda (very refreshing on a hot day) 3.5 star butterfish (really good flavor combinations) 2 star Dan Dan Noodles (blah, not much flavor, I've had much much better Dan Dan noodles elsewhere) 2 star Chang Mai Noodles (blah, the noodles were not great and the overall flavor lacked depth and tasted generic to me. Plus there was barely any chicken) You can tell they really care about what they are doing and approach it with care and precision. Unfortunately, I wasn't that impressed in the actual outcome of all that care and precision. I found the food to be a bit bland and inauthentic to its origins. The pricing was somewhat high too which I would not take issue with had the food been fantastic. The service and atmosphere were great. I can't say whether I'd return or not. There are so many great dining options in this city.

Beautiful patio and interior located in the quiet Helms center. The food is fun, flavorful takes on different asian dishes. The lollipop chicken has the slight crispiness that goes along well with the black bean and molasses coating. The beef and broccoli is a a treat, using top sirloin with chinese broccoli coupled with savory satay sauce. The coconut salad was fun and bright, utilizing the coconut curd usually found in desserts as an accompaniment to the greens. And the wine and beer selection is full of temptations.

Ambiance is perfect. Service is great. Food hmmm... Not so much. Maybe the chef is having a bad day that night. All the dishes that we had was so salty. Excluding the Tea Leaf salad and the desert. It was so salty that all u can taste is salt. One of our friend's a vegetarian they were now enough to prepare a dish for her. This... I like.

Horrendous service. Don't bother and go somewhere else. We were a party of 4 with a reservation at 8:15 last Saturday night. We arrived on time and were told we'd be seated "shortly." After a drink and the passage of 35 minutes we inquired about our table and were told "soon." Long story short: After a wait of 1 hour and 5 minutes we left for another restaurant. The hostess was completely unrepentant. Didn't check up on us; never offered anything (i.e., a drink, an apology) for our inconvenience. I asked to see the manager several times -- a Ms. Pesce, I'm told -- and was informed that she was too busy to come out of the back. We weren't alone. When we left, the hostess was dealing with another party who also had a 8:15 reservation. Have been here before, but never again. The food isn't that good to warrant the aggravation.

Lukshon is gorgeous. A great place for an intimate setting, rather seated inside, or, via the outdoor patio. All ingredients are fresh and all foods were prepared to perfection. Definitely a place to visit when in Culver City.
