It's an achievement that 3-D printing evangelists feel will soon be the norm; rather than assembling consumer products from parts and components, complete functioning products could be fabricated at once, on demand.
The color of the filament is more translucent then I expected and the extrusion temps were much higher than my first spool of white PLA... BUT all that aside, the prints coming from the blue at least look pretty good! I printed http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:50716 and the cool thing about this print is it customized with 3 words I added. I couldn't think of what to use so I just used "Gumpwa", "Luong", "Cube"... creative, I know!
The weird thing was the spool for the blue was different from the other 4... so I have to print 2 different spool holders...!
So I saw this cool translucent print and I just had to do it! So it took a pic of me and make it into a 3D model!! I am quite impressed with the results... Obviously I couldnt just stop there!
I decided to try out http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:114947. The difference here is my portrait was printed flat while the Starry Night was printed vertically! Mine was a test and took 30mins... The Starry Night took 7 hours!
I am happy with the results and think I've had my lithophane fix for now...
