Well, the Edinburgh Mini Maker Faire was thoroughly awesome and anything but Mini!

Highlights for my  wee one were:
* The wooden cargo bicycle
* Reactive dance floor
* Home-made synthesizer
* Tesla Coil
* Gandolf's Pixelator
* The flaming whip
* A viking longship (with hula hoops!)
* The robot room (underwater robots!)
* Monster puppets (doctor button with his green hair  and eyebrows)
* Robot mice
* maracas and whistles (3d printed)
* magnetic 3d geometry
* laser cut dinosaurs [don't look into laser with remaining eye]

whew!

I just watched the worst Movie advert ever. It was for the Amazing Spider-Man. It was five excruciating, cringe-worthy minutes long. I would complain if I thought it would make any difference.

Prometheus was so bad it's funny. I kept expecting something intelligent to happen, like "Hey let's subvert the ideas of Erich Von Daniken and really mess with people's heads!" but guess what? They didn't subvert a damn thing except my suspension of disbelief.

In other news, the main use of 3D movie technology seems to be showing movies of people who look at 3D displays.

For an accurate review:

Saving everything 3d till after my eyes have recovered from the laser tomorrow.

Tonight we went to see snow white and the hunter. We had the cinema to ourselves. It is not the first time being the only people in a cinema recently.

Film wasn't quite my thing but, kept me entertained. We even managed to get it for a fiver thanks to some groupon vouchers.

Tiddlywiki is awesome as a personal notebook/GTD tool, however it’s way of backing up files is to simply create a datestamped copy every time you hit the save changes button, or for every edi...

Hmm, all of these things sound somehow familiar...
For 15 years, we studied what makes people happy at work. We also learned a lot about misery.

Amazing photos of abandoned buildings
These five pillars of the abandoned world include abandoned skyscrapers, industrial ruins, abandoned church and mansions and the Luxembourg Stock Exchange.
