Journalism isn't the press versus the people, it's the press as part of the people. Today's Mashable story (trending high) on "Twitter" beating the AP prompted this blog post.

Good for Nick Kristof, having a future of journalism discussion with -- his readers. (They have plenty to say)

Facebook misses point that simplicity and control matter to people. Few people want to live, read, browse, entirely in public.
I would assert that mindlessly sharing everything will end up being much like sharing nothing in key ways. A "frictionless" stream will drive any sane people away, and be ignored by others in the first place. The only entity that benefits is Facebook itself. The essence of rational sharing is rational decisions about what to share.

Did I really write, "Even for imitation newspapers, there is copiousness of upside?"

Looks like a good opportunity to look in on the interesting experiment from +KOMU 8 News using hangouts during newscasts.
Hi friends,

TOMORROW at 2:00pm EST: Joining me will be +Sarah Hill and +Jen Reeves for our episode of "Who Cares?" where we'll be talking with these two +Google+ advocates from +KOMU 8 News, out of Columbia, MO, whom I have been following from day 1. They were the first news team to use a G+ Hangouts during a newscast and have had great traction with their viewers by reaching out during their segments. It will be neat hearing how their efforts have paid off for them and their brand.

Have your questions ready, I'm sure you are going to enjoy visiting with both +Jen Reeves and +Sarah Hill of +KOMU 8 News - they are a perfect story of 'giving back' and how their efforts have exceeded expectations!

See you tomorrow, same 'bat time' :)

I stopped in on some of the UK's journalism discussion during a London visit last week, including a new report on mainstream media and "social discovery' and a lively News:Rewired conference.

Finding G+ mobile has a hairtrigger on the +1s, endorsed a couple of comments before I realized that. How bout an undo -- minus 1?
