Lots of great information about how Hacking Team got taken down.  The footnotes are extensive and the whole document is worth reading for those who are interested in both how this type of thing happens, and for those who want to try to protect their own networks.

From r/programming on reddit.

A lot of hate for the new google plus UI, but I'm actually finding it far more usable and fluid than the classic. I'm sorry to disappoint the legions of Google+ classicists, but I'm down with the shiny new UI!

When I started working at Citrix in Dublin, supporting XenServer, I occasionally needed to rebuild independent components with additional debugging information. The build system of XenServer at the time was very much tied to the network and infrastructure of the Cambridge office. This required me to reverse engineer and duplicate a lot of effort in order for me to be able rebuild individual components and poke at their internals to be able to better understand the faults and/or behaviours our customers reported. Since then, I joined the engineering side of the force in the Cambridge office and a lot of improvements have been seen since then, both in the build system space and also in the product, including the fully open-source model of XenServer. The one important aspect that was missing still is that, it was quite difficult to build it outside the Cambridge office by any open source enthusiast wanting to contribute. It appears this has finally been resolved, thanks to the work of +Jon Ludlam+David Scott, +John Else and countless others. Thank you for your work on this!

One Weird Old Productivity Tip

Best Node.JS description yet: Node with javascript/coffeescript on the server gives you new and interesting ways to shoot yourself in the foot and then helps you wipe off the wound with a nice bloody rag you were donated from a leper who died of ebola. It's an exciting environment to be sure, but I'm done with that. /s
