Relaxed chain spot known for big portions of prime rib, seafood & such, set in a former 1902 depot.- Google
People talk about croissants, knob hill chicken, southwest chicken quesadilla, baked potato soup and prime rib sandwich

My friend and I went this past Sunday early evening for a 'celebration' dinner.....but no go! The wait staff was slow, they seemed to enjoy talking in the kitchen a lot more that taking care of tables. After 45 minutes for 2 salads, our dinner came-and the dressing was wrong on both salads. We opted to try to add the correct dressing on top of what was already mixed in-bad idea-but we didn't feel we wanted to wait that long for 2 more salads. I just took a few bites and gave up-not a good combo. My girlfriend put bleu cheese (what she had ordered) on top of the balsamic that was on it (their mix up, which the waitress admitted.) She mixed it all up, ate some, and couldn't stand the combo. She asked for a new salad but the manager denied, saying she ate too much-mind you, she had not had the bacon on it, and she mixed the cheese and turkey in it, so it did look like a hot mess. She had only eaten a small amount-he was rude and made us feel like we were trying to 'steal' a new salad......I will never go back, nor recommend it to anyone else. Too petty, too slow, and not willing to correct a mistake the waitress admitted to-just not worth it.

Waited for 2 hours for a table. The service left much to be desired. And the food was mediocre. Not sure what all the hype is about. Will not waste my time/money eating there again.

Me and my husband were recommended to come here by some people he works with. We recently moved here from Pittsburgh. And it was great! Service was good and quick. The mashed potatoes are amazing. He got knob hill chicken and I got the BBQ chicken and both were great. Will definitely be visiting again!

I like to imagine California Dreaming like a bad guy from Scooby Doo...you know, they spend forty five minutes feeling a certain way about the bad guy because of how he appears, then one person gets a "eureka" moment, and then they unmask him to find it was just local sheriff scaring people away? That's California Dreaming in a nutshell: You'll be wowed by the atmosphere. You'll fall in love with the wait staff. You'll enjoy the warm and crisp table bread. Then, after the 45th minute, you'll take a bite into your baby back ribs, burger, or shimp pasta and say aloud "wait a minute, I've had this before..." When you finish the food, you will have unraveled the mystery and discovered that you were actually eating Applebees-style microwaved food the entire time. If dish quality weighs heavily on you, this is a place to avoid; however, if you're merely looking for atmosphere (first date? You sly devil...) then perhaps California Dreaming is worthy of a single visit.

Don't waste your time or your money! I ordered a San Francisco Pasta dish, it was very dry and had way too much garlic. Disgusting! Then I sent it back and order the rib eye dinner. My waiter Ryan brought out a Prime Rib dinner. Sent that back to the kitchen because it looked like half a cow! Then someone brought out my suppose to be rib eye from the kitchen but lo and behold it was a New York Strip. At this point, I didn't send anything back I was ready to go! Here's the kicker, I looked on my account the following day and they charged my debit card TWICE!!!! Called the manager the next day she claimed that I would get my money on Monday! Called the bank no money! Called the restaurant back, claimed that it was voided and no money was taken out of my account but I paid with a debit card yes the money is gone from my account! This manager claims that the money will be in there on tomorrow morning! If it's not I am going to file a formal complaint! Very disappointed! I wouldn't eat there if they told me I can eat for free for LIFE!!!
