@Raine - Unfortunately, the hostess probably *was* the manager. The food here is generally pretty good, but we've had a couple of experiences now where the hostess was rather rude. The last time I was here (on my very best behavior; she at least wasn't rude then), I learned that she's the manager these days as well. Maybe we just happened to catch her on bad nights, but it sounds like you had a similar experience. It's too bad; as I said, the food is good, and it's a place that's reliably open later in the evenings, so is a good option if you're coming into town late. (I'm not with you on the lavender ice cream, though - to me, it tasted like eating a bar of sweet soap. To each their own, though; it seems some folks do like it :-)

This place was great. Very cozy, non-glitzy atmosphere, friendly/helpful staff, and really well-done food. - At least the Frutti di Mare was great; that was the only thing I had tonight. It really was exceptionally good; all the seafood was strictly fresh, and it was all cooked just right. I'm quite the Frutti di Mare snob; it's hard to get right, with the different types of seafood all done just right, but they managed that here, and the flavor was excellent as well. My only quibble was that the homemade pasta was just a bit too much al dente for my taste, I'd have preferred it to be cooked slightly more. But that's just me, and everything else about it was excellent. I'll definitely be back, think this will be my go-to restaurant when staying in the area.
