"Back in 1958, British artist Gerald Holtom designed the symbol for the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) on the occasion of its first major march. This March, Holtom’s sketches for the symbol will have a rare public showing in People Power: Fighting for Peace at the Imperial War Museum (IWM) in London."

"Parts of Zuckerberg’s memo are destined to be controversial. Some people will probably chafe at the very idea of a corporate CEO determining the design principles by which our communities function, even if he has proven pretty adapt at getting people to participate in the world’s biggest network. And one of the most controversial pieces of this manifesto is the part where Zuckerberg describes how Facebook will help make people safe."

"THERE IS A term for news organizations that predate the internet—legacy media—and you may have heard they’re dying. But in researching who was watching and reading what at the end of 2016, one thing became clear: Some of the oldest voices in the news are still the biggest."

The recipient receives the gift inside WeChat, and simply shows it at a Starbucks branch to get the item.

The tie-up was first announced in December, building on an existing in-store WeChat Pay partnership, and it marks the first time that an international brand has been part of the WeChat wallet."

"Thursday, Twitter said it pulled in $638 million in total ad revenue in the quarter—down one percent compared to the same time last year. The root of the decline? Direct-response ads and promoted tweets, the ad formats most at home in Twitter’s fast-scrolling, constantly refreshing stream, are fading. As Facebook and Snapchat can tell you, the present and future of advertising is video. To fully be a part of it, Twitter’s going to have to either fundamentally rethink its platform, or find a new kind of ad future."

"While Holmes did not go into the details of how revenues break down on AdEspresso, this also helps lay more groundwork for the company in how it continues to diversify its business. Today, Hootsuite’s freemium model is heavily weighted to “free”: of the 15 million users it has, paying users number in the hundreds of thousands. Adding in more paid advertising options gives it an option of monetizing those free users without trying to woo them to paid tiers for the wider service."
