"McCabe says the company has grown because businesses are looking for a single platform to help them organize their communication tools across every platform. That’s an approach that’s different than a company like Facebook’s, which similarly hopes to offer a popular front end for business conversations through its Messenger and WhatsApp services. But those are just endpoints, McCabe says. Another service is needed in the background to organize a company’s communications."

"Snapchat wants the platform to be a place for buying, just like other platforms doing ecommerce. Snapchat has made the Shoppable AR Lens feature applicable for downloading apps and viewing movie trailers on top of buying merchandise. Marketers or creators can use the Snap Pixel, which was released in June, to track purchases made after users play with an AR Lens."

"Virtual models such as Lil Miquela and Shudu are just the beginning of the avatar revolution, some industry observers say. As people grow increasingly comfortable with these manufactured online identities, some brands see an opportunity to capitalize, Wilson said."

"What’s the average spend on content marketing? Overall, 26 percent of the total marketing budget is dedicated to content marketing for the B2B sector. For B2C, it’s 22 percent.

But, here’s where it gets interesting. The most successful organizations spend closer to 40 percent of their total marketing budget on content strategy. Those with a relatively mature hold on content marketing spend about one-third of their budget on content."

"Said access was gated behind two-factor authentication systems, but unfortunately they were of the type that occasionally or optionally allow SMS to be used instead of an authenticator app or token. SMS has some major inherent security flaws, and this method was declared unacceptable by NIST back in 2016. But it is far from eliminated and many services still use it as a main or backup 2FA method."

"Snapchat is arriving very late to the game of courting influencers. Now it hopes to boost ad spend by connecting businesses with its top independent creators, but it won’t take a cut of deals it helps arrange. Today Snap Inc. launches its 'Snapchat Storytellers' pilot program that will introduce brands to five of the app’s most popular content makers, including Mplatco, Cyrene Q and Shonduras."

"In many ways, Tuesday’s announcement is just the continuation of a plan to promote HTTPS around the web. In September, Google will remove the 'Secure' indicator next to HTTPS sites, a sign that encrypted connections largely have become the default posture online. And in October, if you attempt to enter data on an HTTP page, Chrome will show you a 'not secure' warning in red."

"As you move the card in the real world, these virtual elements move with it as if they were as real as the card itself. Since physical cards have limited space, these virtual thingamajigs seem like an easy way to expand on the amount of information they can contain."
