I highly recommend Rocklin Karate! The instructor Ed is able to cater his instruction to each student's individual needs and he amazingly remembers their names, notes their progress and keeps in mind their limitations. So no matter what level your child is at they will improve on their technique. I love his little well trained assistants (his older kids), they are really great with the younger ones and great role models, they genuinely care for the students and you can tell they are fine family that work well together and are passionate about their instruction and team. My son enjoys the karate very much and it also in turn helps his self esteem, respect towards adults, improves his listening skills and helps his physical abilities. I also like that they email each parent a constantly updating monthly calendar, so all you have to do is retrieve a recent email if you forgot the days or times of instruction. My son like the basic karate days more than the sword days, so we show-up on those days. Ed the instructor also puts together some social events in addition to the schedule. Which are great if you are new student or want to mingle with your karate group, it is like a nice little ice cream social bonus. This is completely changing the subject, but I think if you have a child that is going through a tough time with their self esteem or with their peers, this is a great monitored positive activity that is non related to their school and they don't have to be in shape or meet a criteria to start.
