What It Takes Productions
*Brand New comedy web series pokes fun at the horrors of dating.*
“IT’S NOT YOU…” premieres this Thursday 14th February (Valentine’s Day).
WHAT IT TAKES PRODUCTIONS is excited to announce its very first production, IT’S NOT YOU… premiering February 14th 2013 on www.itsnotyou.tv. (click to watch the trailer)
The webseries consists of 7 self-contained episodes airing every Thursday from Valentine’s Day.
It navigates the stories of Laura and Julia, two flatmates with a talent for ‘bad dating’ and attracting the worst chat up lines.
Each 3-minute episode showcases another example of ‘how not to do it’, as both girls return home to share the details of their disastrous evening.
If you ever thought “This sort of thing only happens to me”, you’ll see you are not alone.
The show was created by actress Cristina Lark, and it is, ehm… completely fictional.
“I didn’t want to make a feminist show, I just wanted to share the humour of situations that once made friends laugh… and roll their eyes”.
Joining Cristina in this webseries is a wealth of upcoming international acting talent.
Playing the role of Julia, Laura (Lark)’s flatmate is Anna Elena Pepe, whose most recent acting credits include a participation in the online hit A Very European Breakup.
The cast also includes Craig Daniel Adams (Hollyoaks, The Bloody Mary Show), Alex Roseman (A Very European Breakup), Patrick Oldham (Persona), William Alexander (Erin Simpson Show – Television New Zealand), among others.
Cristina Lark is an actress, writer & director whom recently graduated from an MA at RADA. She was born in São Paulo, Brazil, where she graduated in Social Communication and Advertisement, before deciding it was time to get out of the closet as an actress. Whilst studying acting, she worked at Comparsaria Theatre Company and SBT Channel. She continued her acting studies in Barcelona, Spain, where she also worked professionally in a range of productions. Briefly after arriving in London, she started landing roles in several fringe plays, from Lorca’s The House of Bernarda Alba to Macbeth (Barons Court Theatre and Upstairs at the Gatehouse), in short films, webseries (The Bloody Mary Show) and presenting. “It’s Not You…” is her debut work as a producer, having founded What it Takes Productions to bring her creative material to life. Her international background includes being raised in a Spanish family in Brazil, where she attended a French school for 12 years, and living in 3 different countries, all of which has influenced her universal approach to writing, directing and acting.
“IT’S NOT YOU…” is written, directed and produced by Cristina Lark. Episodes can be seen beginning February 14th on the show’s official website, www.itsnotyou.tv
