Build out campaigns the easy way: copy and paste elements in your AdWords account
We love building features that help you work quickly and efficiently in AdWords, like ad group level bid adjustments, or bulk editing tools for keywords, ads, and ad groups. Simplifying campaign management can help you be more effective and improve your advertising performance. Today, we’re making it faster and easier to restructure your campaigns and build out new ones with the ability to copy and paste in the AdWords interface.
Using copy and paste should be a familiar task. Just select the items you want to copy, then click the Edit drop down button and select Copy (or just hit Ctrl-C/Cmnd-C). Next, navigate to where you want to paste the items. Then click the Edit drop down button and select Paste (or just hit Ctrl-V/Cmnd-V). You can copy keywords, ads, ad groups, or entire campaigns. Example Uses
- Create campaigns quicker:
Copy and paste can make you more efficient when creating new campaigns. For example, if you decide to advertise a new product line in AdWords, you can copy an entire campaign to use as a template to build from.
- Easily break up your ad groups:
You also might want to tailor your ads by breaking up a large ad group into multiple smaller ad groups. This can be done more efficiently using copy and paste; simply copy the entire ad group over, and refine the keywords and ads in the new ad group.
Keep in mind that when you copy and paste entire campaigns and ad groups, you will retain all
content and settings such as negative keywords, mobile or location bid adjustments, and bid strategies to name a few. Be sure to review your settings before making your new campaigns and ad groups active.
