We've been working on expanding our Rumicode Greetings functionality. One thorny development item is to allow our users to write English within a Farsi or Urdu sentence (or vice versa, write Farsi or Urdu within an English sentence) without making the sentence look like confused gobbledygook. Now I know there is a term for sentences like these. Sentences that include Urdu and English are called "opposite-direction phrases." And kudos to the folks at W3.org for making this (and so many thing like this) so easy to understand. What a valuable and clearly written article! Thank you!

Eid Mubarak my friends! It's quiet in San Francisco tonight, but the air somehow feels festive. We launched Rumicode Greetings for Urdu today! Just in time to send someone an Eid Greeting.

Visit rumicode.com/home-ur.html and look for the "Create Greeting Card" button to get started. You'll see an Eid Mubarak greeting card with me, Naila and Amir. Amir just loves that I've used our family picture all over the site.

Please make a greeting card and let your friends know you made it on rumicode.com! And send a copy to me! Please!!!! I wanna see what you've made!

Eid Mubarak, Eid Mubarak, Eid Mubarak!

We are in development mode! Hooray! So happy to be doing html instead of mock-ups, well, sort of. My, oh my, how easy it is to forget how to do just about everything. :)

Also, if you are interested in a good color picker, check out Spectrum. It's about as good as it gets. In fact, IMHO and for our needs, it's perfect. Try the embedded example at the top of the page. You can select from an array of choices, you can create your own colors or just slap in your own hex code.
