I was really glad to hear that the POTUS finally decided to $#!^ or get off the pot with the Paris Climate Agreement. While I'm a proponent of clean energy I really disliked the indecision of the US government in support the climate agreement. The wishy-washy nature of our former administration was making it hard for energy-related businesses and manufacturers to properly plan for the future.

As one British politician put it, many countries were (paraphrasing) "depending on the leadership of the US in the Paris Climate Agreement". And, by "Leadership" he meant "Money". Now the world knows where we stand.

Sure, some nations will continue to burn coal to create heat and make electricity, and others will continue to use the nuclear option. I firmly believe no amount of "Leadership" given to third world countries would make a difference in how they produce energy. I think it would instead allow these countries to more easily hide (and bribe) their way into a) using the same sorts of fossil fuels regardless and b) allow "clean energy" foreign manufacturers to suckle on the teat of our tax dollars.

All the while that's going on, this sort of "leadership" would foster an international oversight committee that would become a burden to any progress.
