I think "splinter shard".

I started with the 20 warriors out of the 3rd edition starter set. Got a couple of ravagers and a talos after that, and then a bunch more warriors. I replaced them all when the 5th ed codex and all the new models came out.

Honestly, Layrinthine Cunning is so much better than the other ones. While the others are very situational and I can come up with scenarios in which they'd be useful, re-rolling Initiative/Night Fight/Reserves is almost always useful, especially with flyers being quite popular.

Ultimately, I think it's a failure of rules writing in this case. Were I writing the rules, I'd probably just make warlord traits selectable and have less of them. It would require a little more tweaking of balance (as is the case any time you do include generic options that hypothetically any model could take), but it would also shorten the pre-game set up time and make it less of a crapshoot.

Like... What? My archon had labyrinthine cunning last battle, but this time she's feeling angry?

There has been a bit of an explosion of random dice rolling at the start of a game (especially with Chaos). It might be nice to cut back on that generally.

Somewhat recently, I played in a game of Star Wars: Edge of the Empire. Most people are reasonably familiar with Star Wars as a setting, though being into the minutiae is seen as being somewhat lame. Us, sitting there with a ...

The Australian army uses the "ice pick" grip, blade towards the user, with the justification that you get a stronger strike. But they didn't really concentrate much on CQC techniques. I think the scenario was against an unprepared enemy.

The little Get Tough book shows the fencing stance.

I was hoping this would be a documentary about the history of gold's use as currency. Hmm
