NEWS - Media Release
Local business women and motel proprietor, Val Michielan, of The Lakes Resort Mount Gambier is taking further measures to protect her business from the rising price of energy.
A great advocate of renewable energy, Val has already installed a solar power system on the roof of her motel which covers the day time energy use of her establishment. Val has recently witnessed escalating gas costs for running the motel's swimming pool and spa and rather than be forced to close down the indoor pool in the winter she decided to invest in the latest technology of Tivok swimming pool heat pumps and low energy pool circulating pumps. Modelling has shown that Val's project return on investment is between 2 and 3 years based on current energy prices. Two Tivok heat pumps, 7.9kW for the spa and 14kW for the swimming pool were supplied and installed by Australian Sun Energy. Val also upgraded the motel's pool from a chlorine system to a salt chlorinated system which should see her saving another 50-60% on chemical costs. Labour costs at the motel will also be reduced as the new pool system is fully automated and is controlled by a phone app. Val is delighted about the new systems being installed and looks forward to reduced energy costs. "I am keen to adopt new technologies that will save running costs of the motel in the future" Val said
Australian Sun Energy, based in Mount Gambier is witnessing a significant rise in enquiries from across Australia since energy costs have escalated. Peter Taylor Director of Australian Sun Energy said "We have many solutions to reduce energy consumption and are currently working on several projects across Australia"
Roslyn Taylor, Owner/Director of Australian Sun Energy said "We are delighted to be working with the Lakes Resort on this project and it is wonderful to have a client like Val, an advocate of renewable energy who is keen to reduce her energy costs by adopting the latest technologies. Val is an astute business owner who realises in order to be competitive she needs to keep the motel's running costs down and by investing in energy reduction systems she is protecting her business from further increases in power".

Energy Efficient Buildings - There has been a lot of noise going on about the huge hike we can expect to see in our next electricity bill but no-one is talking about #energy efficiency. We must start building our homes and offices with energy efficiency in mind. Our climate is erratic and can be cold one day and super hot the next so it is even more important we construct our buildings to cope with the changes. Australian Sun Energy has been very busy adding to our product range to ensure we are ready for the buildings of the future. Have you checked out website recently? http://ow.ly/gotD308YZHx

Renew Economy - http://ow.ly/nm9B308N9wy It seems that you can ask the Coalition government a question about pretty much anything – plunging polls, Donald Trump, Cory Bernardi or even the weather – and the answer will always be the same: “We’re focused on electricity prices.”
Great. But what exactly is the Coalition doing about it? On the evidence to date, not a whole lot, apart from blaming renewables for soaring wholesale electricity costs and promoting something called “clean coal,” despite all the evidence pointing to the fact that coal generation it is not very clean, and not cheap.
