Petrol Station is definitely my favorite craft beer bar. They always have a great selection with plenty of beers and breweries that I have never even heard of, so you can always explore new ones. The bartenders and owner are very knowledgable and nice so will help you find one that you will like. The food is also fantastic and they have rotating Monday specials. The only downside is that the inside area is very limited, so it isn't a good place during the heat, cold and rain. But they have plenty of shade, heat lamps, and bug spray to take care of it. The prices are also very reasonable/lower than most other places around.

First time going to Petrol Station and had looked forward to it for a long time. The set up outside is awesome, great selection of craft beer, and the food wasn't bad either. The problem was the service was extremely slow. My wife ordered food and friends ordered directly behind her. Our food took about 45 minutes, but then our friends food took at least 30-45 minutes longer.

As an atypical pub guest, I must say - this was a fabulous restaurant/beer joint. I loved the atmosphere and rustic style. The seating inside is adequate, but I went on a Friday for lunch. Perhaps at night it gets extremely packed, but at this time (1:00), it was fine. Inside, the menu is written on the wall board in chalk. Everything available is hearty, but they do offer interesting vegan/vegetarian options. I ordered the Hummus Amongus plate, and it was SO good. The hummus has a sesame seed theme, so it has a meaty/nutty/smokey taste, but is still veggie. The amount was huge (it's actually an appetizer, but i ordered as a meal). I would guess a cup or so of hummus! Raawr. The burger ordered by my dear friend was amazing - just a cheeseburger, but you could easily see that it was high quality. We sat outside and since it was the first sunny day in a long time, everyone was properly chill. The most chill being was the black yard cat that kept trying to sleep and get warm in the nearby bush. Very cute and must be a pub frequenter… Overall, the price and quality are great. The only downside is that the food took a good while to get to us. We weren't dressed in business clothing, but we were semi- on a schedule. Maybe if you share that you are on a time limitation, they will help ensure your order is out earlier. I am giving 5 stars because I didn't consider that a negative, just something to be aware of.

I always wonder who that 1 star person is when a place has nothing but 5 it was me. I waited for nearly 2 hours for my food and it never came. I went back to the bar at minute 60 and asked how long it would be (at this point my buddy who I was grabbing lunch with had already gotten his food). They said my order never went to the kitchen. At this point, I was ok with the situation. The place was busy and these sort of things happen in a small restaurant with a small kitchen. Typically the solution is to put my food at the head of the line. Instead, I waited another 50 minutes and never saw my food. I finally had to leave. Also, the beer selection was severely lacking on this visit. I've been here a bunch of times and it is usually great. I've even written good reviews before but this was not ok. I think the solution is to hire more staff.

Easily the best burger in Houston and I've had about 20 different so called "Best of's" in town. Good craft beer selection with good service makes this place tops on the Houston list for me!!

This is a great place for delicious beer, good food, and casual conversation. There's a great selection of craft beers, the bar tenders are patient, and the rankor burger is definitely one of the better burgers in Houston. This is a great place to simply hang out with friends or spend a casual evening with your significant other.

I asked for an extra glass and it was very filthy, it looked yellowish pretty gross. The food is okay not worth the hour and a half wait. No seating inside. that time i visit the bar they had a beer for $14 for 6oz.... ripoff. One positive thing about it, they have a wide selection on beer.

Firstly, be warned that if it looks like your GPS has forsaken you and taken into the residential bowels of Oak Forest, fear not...Petrol Station is a little hidden and hard to find, but worth the effort! It is like a Beer Pot of Gold at the end of a Foodie Rainbow! This unassuming neighborhood watering hole has an excellent craft beer selection and a surprisingly delicious take on pub fare! I had the drunken reuben and it was the best $9 I had spent in Houston that day! Everything about this sandwich was done oh so right! It is HUGE, so unhinge your jaw before diving in! The meat was perfection and the hint of allspice made the sandwich ridiculously flavorful! I got the orzo salad that comes with and it was super flavorful (if not a little left of spicy) and a wonderful companion to the sandwich! The beer prices are pretty reasonable. I had a Devil's Share in a snifter and a Ten Fidy in a snifter and they were $6 and $8 respectively (definitely cheaper than I have seen these beers going for at comparable watering holes in ATX). The staff is super friendly, helpful, and attentive! The bartender even gave me a sample of a beer he thought would pair well with the sandwich I ordered off the bat, which I thought was fantastic! You can definitely tell this place a local hangout, which is great as I met a really nice local couple who gave me some insider info on some other great pubs in the area! I will definitely go out of my way to stop in here again next time I am in the Big H!
