For over 15 years, Bryan Bedford has been transforming the way sports content is delivered to fans, teams, coaches and leagues around the world. Throughout his career in the digital sports and entertainment industry, Bedford has launched game-changing technologies in high growth businesses’ including broadcast replay solutions, stadium technology integration, digital networks and of course all things mobile related. Bedford is also very active as an industry speaker, and communicator on Twitter (@Bryan_Bedford) discussing digital media in sports as often as he can.
In his current position with Cisco Systems Bedford is a
Senior Manager responsible for global alliance and technology ecosystem
development Cisco's Industry Solutions Group and more specifically it’s high
growth group focused on Sports & Entertainment (100 Mil annual business). In
this role, Bedford manages global relationships with major media companies,
rights holders, broadcasters, service providers, content companies, mobile app
companies, architects, pro leagues, college conferences, service providers,
international technology firms and resellers. Partnership development includes
direct C Level engagement with global companies such as EVS, TELUS, Samsung, Daktronics,
Sporting Innovations, Panasonic, Johnson Controls, Boingo, Telstra and ExteNet
to name a few.
Before coming to Cisco, Bedford served as XOS Digital's Director of Sales & Business Development. In 2004, XOS Digital (35 Mil annual business) senior management decided to capitalize on the rapid pace of construction of sports facilities and place a focused effort on the Facility Design and Integration business unit within XOS Digital and asked Bedford to lead that charge.
Under Bedford’s direction XOS Digital’s Facility Design
& Integration business unit grew by over 300% over a 8 year period also
executed a business pivot by executing on a transition plan to move from an A/V
Systems integrator to a provider of Audio/Video integration, A/V design services,
experiential design & integration and developed a proprietary (high margin)
product line that included the widespread adoption of instant replay in College
Football and College Basketball. Bedford also spearheaded all facets of
external business development for the firm including forging strategic
“go-to-market” partnerships with Downstream, Sony, Bexel Broadcast Services and
also maintaining C Level relationships with major sports media companies,
sports architecture firms and numerous other strategic partners including
Sports Business Journal, NACDA, and Stadium Managers Association
Prior to joining XOS Digital, Bedford was groomed in the sports world and spent time working for three sports teams a various levels in North America over a 7 year period. He served as the Assistant Director of Football Operations (including two bowl games) for Texas Christian University (TCU), as a Director of Football Operations for Southern Nazarene University, and as an Account Executive for the Oklahoma Redhawks Baseball Club.
Bedford earned his master’s degree in education from the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, Okla. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Oklahoma where he currently serves on the Board of Directors for the SNU Alumni Association.
