The Hawthorne is what you'd expect from a restaurant/bar in that area - fancy-schmancy, a little too pricey, with waitstaff that think a little too highly of their extensive knowledge of obscure craft cocktails. Its kind of an awesome place. Good place to go with people who don't mind spending a little cash, or on a date. One note of caution - those floors are EXTREMELY slippery when its rainy out, be careful! Wonderful outdoor patio for some people watching though, can't beat the people watching in Kenmore.

Have you ever dreamed of one day owning your own luxurious library where you sip on fabulous cocktails and destress from the work day? The Hawthorne is the perfect place to indulge in your fantasy! Delicious drinks, amazing decor, and the right amount of tasty bar bites to keep the after work crowd satisfied.

What can I say about the Hawthorne that hasn't already been said? Located right in the heart of Kenmore Square, this gorgeous romantically lit bar goes far beyond its "hotel bar" status. The friendly bartenders will be more than happy to help you decide which of their many amazing cocktails is right for you, which might be helpful when faced with their cocktail menu. You'll find modern interpretations on classic cocktails, swizzles and delicious libations that will set your head a-spin with happiness. The back room is fantastic for a fancy cocktail party, private Tiki party or just a few drinks with friends when your party grows enormous. Don't skip the amazing lists of small bites and sandwiches. Highly recommend the deviled eggs (rotating list), pretzel bites with spicy hot mustard and the grilled brie sandwich. Consistent amazingness abounds here.

One of the best places to drink in Boston. A superb, extensive cocktail menu with fantastic bartenders. Get the homemade soft pretzel bites with spicy mustard to compliment those craft drinks, and, if you can, sit in the Library room — a private, posh area for a larger gathering.

Amazing cocktails in a chic setting. This is the perfect place to meet a girlfriend for some delicious drinks, cute bar bites and gossip. I recently loved their cocktail flavored macarons. No full on dinner menu so grab a drink and head next door to Island Creek for dinner!

A hidden gem of the Hotel Commonwealth, a demonstration of Jackson Cannon's care to detail -- Cocktails are the focus ($11 -- the extensive list is updated daily), but there's also a developed cheese program, diverse small plates, and exceptional wall art. What once housed the Foundation Room is a unique, trendy lounge, with a (sweet!) back room for private events. Pro Tip: Use hooks/outlets under the bar for purses, coats, and phone charging. Best suited for dates + work outings. Highlights: Aviation, Hanky Panky, Electric Boomerang Banana, Phil Collins, Deviled Eggs, Crisp Prosciutto, Grilled Cheese, Pretzel Rolls.
