Tonight my wife and I celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary. We decided to do so at the Kingfisher and brought our 17 year old son with us to enjoy the night with us. I made reservations to ensure we would have a table. We arrived promptly at 6:30 and we were seated. Once we were seated our waitress came over, took our drink order. When our drinks arrived she took our appetizer order and entree order. That is when things went wrong. My son said that the waitress gave him a derisive look. I also noticed that she seemed to give me a less than pleasant look as well. We are assuming he received it because of his age and I received it because of the full sleeve of ink on my left arm. Regardless during our stay, my son's drink sat empty for most of his meal and was only refilled after I asked two different busboys to ask the waitress to get him a refill. My wife's wine glass sat empty for half her meal and never was refilled. At no point during our meal did the waitress stop to check on how the meal was going or if we needed anything. Meanwhile she was checking all the other patrons around us frequently, refilling their beverages and checking on them on a regular basis. She blatantly IGNORED my wife who was sitting patiently waiting for her to finish with another patron while staring at her. My wife and I both earn a nice living in high end white collar jobs, the Kingfisher is not what we would consider a upscale dining experience for us. To be judged and treated like this based off my son's age and my ink is just stupid and asinine. The food was mediocre at best with small portion sizes and just not good enough to support the rudeness of this staff member. Oysters were fresh and fried calamari was good. Staff needs some serious retraining if they are going to have bigoted behavior like this.

Hello Mr. P, I would like to apologize for the way you and your family were treated the other night. Your waiter has been with us for a long time and this is an unusual complaint regarding her service. The level of business that evening was greater than projected and due to other circumstances we were under-staffed. While this does not justify the way you felt regarding your evening here it is a piece of your experience that I apologize for. The service was just bad, I can assure there was no underlying bias regarding you or your family. sincerely James Murphy/owner

oh my, have wanted to go here for a long time, saw most reviews and decided to finally go. Will not be going back, service was a little slow but waiter/waitress very nice & attentive. The food was not good, fish dry & tart, clam chowder was watered down, potato hard. Maybe an acquired taste but was way over my head, can't get over.

Let's just say I'm not a big fan of Tucson. So when a colleague suggested we meet for lunch at a place called Kingfisher while in town on business, let's just say I was not enthusiastic. Bring in the crow for me to eat... This place is a diamond in the rough. Not much to look at from the outside and the one-big-room-dining-area is not exactly intimate. But the lobster roll I had was nothing less than spectacular - On par with some of the best I've had in Boston and Newport. Pricing is reasonable and service is acceptable. I will definitely return.

The worst seafood place ever. I highly recommend Tucson bringing in real Seafood Restaurants such as "Todai"!! Takamatsu is Alot better than this place.. the service was ok.

Everything from the service to the food was absolutely fabulous. My steak was cooked to perfection!! We ordered two beef dishes and two seafood dishes. Every dish was so good. I highly recommend eating here. I also had the Caricature- cab/zin wine that was recommended by the waitress, it too was really good.

King Fisher is a fantastic local grill/bar restaurant, very little advertising needed once you have been there. Let put it this way, you will dream of going back because of their great dishes and full bar. The price is affordable, the service is great, and the food is delicious. That would make King Fisher become my favorite place for a romantic dinner with my husband. his too since it is not a frilly place.

Kingfisher hasn't shared anything with you.

People are more likely to share with you if you add them to your circles.
