You walk in and you can see from the menu that their thing is "rare and unusual craft beer." I walked into this small bar and the extremely attentive bartender will guide you through their selection of draught beer if you ask. They also have a long list of bottled beers as well. Second to that of Torst in Brooklyn, I was told that this was probably the next best craft beer bar in NYC. They don't do beer flights, so don't ask. They can do smaller pours served only one at the time. I told him I was from LA and I wanted to taste some rare local craft beers. Great beer tasting experience overall and at the time of my visit, an extremely friendly bartender. The only negative was the group next to me were way too loud and obnoxious for me to stay any longer to enjoy my tasting and enjoy my experience.

The steamed lobster was good however paying $34 per pound made no sense as this lobster was no different than say Red Lobster. My date ordered the scallops which are better at fill in the blank Hibachi steakhouses. Yes it was a nice atmosphere and yes we were able to see the sunset but we visited laguna and even the sunset at malibu which were both very nice and no where near as overpriced as The Lobster. In fact the surf and turf and my rockfish and cocktails came to half of what the lobster was. This place isn't terrible i just prefer to get more for my money. Also there were open tables along the window but the host wouldnt sit us there after i asked. Even offered to give him $20!

We came to this place for a friend's birthday and knew the price range coming into it. The venue is set right on the Santa Monica pier, so if you wanted to, you could request a seat by the window overlooking the ocean. My friend and I decided to split the seafood platter, which had mussels, oysters, crab, and lobster. It was just the right amount of food for us, and we eat quite a bit. I think it ran us about $70. It's an elegant place to dine, but I would only come here for special occasions.

Great food and cocktails, ambiance and service! This place has been so many unsuccessful things in the past five years and I think it finally found its niche with Bar Catalina. Love the classy vintage decor and music! Staff was so friendly and accommodating... John adjusted the music for us because we wanted Brazilian music to go with our Brazilian cocktails (The Caipirinha is excellent! And I've been to Brazil) The tapas are delicious... great to order a combo and share. Oh and the bread is amazing. We went for a friend's birthday and our very charming server Manny gave us a complimentary dessert flatbread, though we were so full we had to take it home. Since we live around the corner, this is our new fave neighborhood spot for dates and meeting friends.

They made out they where covering the parking venue cost under the place even stamped a ticket , Then after I paid for the overpriced fish and chips $25 I was charged $7 more when I got outside to get my car. Kinda sucked Rustys surf ranch right down the way was way cheaper and food was better. And no I dont work for Rustys just know a good meal when I see one

This restaurant is classic. It's located right on the Santa Monica shoreline so there are beautiful views. I went here for dinner and service was excellent. I ordered the lobster bisque and it was delicious; creamy and flavorful. They only had three pound lobsters left so we had to order it; grilled as recommended by our waiter. It was huge and very filling. Overall, good food and high prices to match!

we were walking from restaurant to restaurant today, looking for a restaurant that had clam chowder, because I'm a tourist and that's what I wanted. not only did the Lobster have it, they fit our group of three into the best table there without any type of wait. I got some delicious chowder, everyone else had yummy food (the lemon pasta was so good!) and Scott took care of us beautifully!
