The Peanut Place. In the heart of Grand Lake. Great western atmosphere with 1880s jail doors. Not just great BBQ. Steaks, fish, sandwiches, and homemade desserts. Full bar. Breakfast, lunch, & dinner.

The wife and I stopped in for a quick lunch after reading good reviews about Sagebrush. Wow, were we disappointed. First thing we had to do was check the pulse of the waiter to see if he was alive. No personality at all. We ordered the chicken nachos for an appetizer but they came out with our main meal. For our main we figured we would order the Elk burger since it's not something we get at home. Ordered it cooked medium but it came out well done. It almost seemed as if it had been cooked earlier and just warmed up for us. We mentioned this to the waiter and I'm not sure it registered with him. Not having enough time to send it back to get another, we chocked it down since we were starving. Our next trip into Grand lake, Sagebrush will not be on our list to visit.

Compared to other chain BBQ restaurants this is definitely 5 stars. I like when reviews are broken down by category so I'll try to do the same. Service: Excellent! Our waitress was very attentive, kept our drinks full, and made great recommendations. The food didn't take too long to arrive at our table, what I would expect to wait for good food. Food: Awesome BBQ! Our family got just about everything between 14 people. Brisket was better than any other BBQ place I've been to. Chicken wasn't overcooked at all, still succulent and flavorful. Sausages and sauces were excellent. My favorite was the elk sausage with jalapeños and cheddar. The pulled pork was really good, and on a sandwich it was as good as any I have had. I put their spicy honey mustard sauce on a rib and loved it (not conventional but delicious). The ribs were meaty too, not the kind that leave you feeling short changed. Surprisingly the meatloaf was really tasty. The sweat potato was recommended by our waitress and was also great! To be fair, the fries were decent. They could of used some seasoning to be excellent. Peanuts are Peanuts... Atmosphere: Along the little mainstreet of Grand Lake this little old western style BBQ joint is classic. This is the atmosphere some chains try to copy, but just can't ever capture. Don't expect a quiet, candle lit experience - but this place won't let you down.

I love this place! Stopped here with my mom one summer on a road trip. Was back out there two weeks later for a Boy Scout backpacking trip. Brought the scouts here after a week on the trail. They were so gracious and inviting towards such a large group and actually brought the food to the park pavilion across the street for us in hot trays. Great experience! Thank You Sagebrush! Ribs! Ribs! Ribs! Troop 358 Buffalo, MN

It's good plain us food. Over sugared bbq sauce on grilled meat, with fries and stuff, like in most of the US. But it's actually very fine if you want to stuff yourself with food tasting good and sweet. The funny thing is that there is a bucket of peanuts to peel yourself on each table, and throw the skin on the floor (which is therefore very dirty, but that's fun)

Went with three people and we all ordered ny strip. All three of us agreed the steak was disgusting and overpriced. I can't speak about the BBQ, but the steak was gross. I'm talking frozen dinner gross.

Food was really yummy, very loud atmosphere on a Friday night though. Service was okay for the most part, however, I felt our waitress was so high she kept forgetting to bring us items (ranch, drinks, extra's....)
