Tonight: please come to my ROBOT RELEASE PARTY in celebration of the new novel.  There will be food, drink, performance, mirth, and robots, robots, ROBOTS!

It's 2013: do RSS readers still exist?  I've got to get Facebook out of my face ...

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you: SNAZZY PORTLAND: The Movie For Telephones!  Culminating three years of intermittent volunteer labor, this video is a paean to the song of the same name, dedicated to the eponymous city and the people who make it snazzy!

Helloooooo out there ...

I have a friend who's looking for a web developer team, probably RonR, to implement his monster internet tv killer dream app. He's a good guy, very smart and easy to work with. Fling resumes and business cards in this direction, please.

"Amelia Davis" has me in her "circles". Her posts are 90% reposts of popular images and 10% links to online stores. She's added 4333 people. Her online profile is empty.

Google Plus keeps nagging me to hang out with her. But I think she's a robot. Not that I hold that against a person. But I'm all about conversation, and robots sometimes come across a bit metallic. She's engineered to generate sales with simulated authentic enthusiasm. She's all "online jewelry!" I'm all "boobs?" I don't think it'd work out.

But it makes me wonder ... who else on here is a robot? Are you certain none of your plusbook friends are robots? How prevalent is this robots-friending-you business? Are there lonely people with entire social networks of only robots?

I ignored Jimmy Wales, so they sent Ward Cunningham ... curse you, Wikipedia!

Many of my Bizarro writers friends are circulating this gem. It's an honest statement; the lot of the self-promoting small author is immensely improved by such stuff. But it just feels, I don't know, impermissibly rude and desperate to send my friends such reminders on how they can advance my career for me. Like they don't have careers of their own to advance, or plenty of other things to talk about in their water cooler conversations, or other shit to do.

What do you all think? Does this provoke an "ugh" reaction? Or am I shooting myself in the foot by not circulating it on the FacePlace?
