My Wife and I called these "Umbrella Condoms" when we saw them in use at the Apple Store in Tokyo, Japan. I guess Apple shipped a few over to the almost always dry San Diego and we put them to good use.

While the hotel is a little rough around the edges, I do like this place. It's kitch Silver Mining Old Nevada with a mix of the 1980's thrown in. The rooms are not amazing but they are also not horrible and definitely not intolerable. The restaurant was good and the waiters/waitresses are nice and as efficient as you might expect at a hotel of this kind. The casino/bar is great reflection of the hotel itself, a little rough around the edges but definitely not intolerable. This hotel would suit well with the weekend biker crowd but if you are a regular traveler, don't worry about people harassing you or giving you dirty looks. I found the crowd the entertaining, polite and friendly. There is plenty of parking in the back and the prices of the room and food was reasonable. You can also walk to many other parts of Ely with in a couple of minutes from this hotel. I have stayed here twice and will stay again when we travel up the route that takes us through Ely.

A good airport and you don't get anal probed like you do in American Airports. Everyone is helpful, friendly and efficient. There is a mall at the airport, so you can buy your trinkets as you leave or enter the country.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 days and we really liked this place. The whole point of staying at a real Japanese style hotel is having the whole Ryokan experience, this hotel provides. This hotel is very customer focused and the staff, while lacking English skills, were very friendly, helpful and attentive to our needs. There were bunch of little details that we liked, such as when you are out exploring Kyoto, they will come to your room and setup the mats for you. They have a good size Onsen (Japanese style bath) with hot soaking pool that is very clean. It's a really neat experience but you will have to shower and soak naked with other persons of your gender. Yukata (Robes) and sandals are provided (Even large sizes for big footed people!) and there is WiFi in the lobby. The room was large and clean with a view out onto a quite street. My only complaint is that the WiFi did not reach our room on the third floor, but I was told that this is common in Japan since free WiFi is a very very rare. The hotel is located in a good location to explore the city and if I had to do it all over again, I would stay here again. If you stay here, or any Japanese hotel, make sure study up on Japanese Hotel protocol since they do things differently in Japan.

I have to admit, my wife and I really like this place. The waiters are friendly, it's never packed so we can get seated quickly. The food is good, the portions are right sized and the cost is nice. It's our relaxed placed to go and eat on a Saturday morning before we really start our weekend. The other restaurants in the area strike me a complete nightmare; tons of drunk people and huge oversized portions for a lot more money. The wife and I can roll into this place on Saturday morning, get a table and enjoy a nice relaxed breakfast off a menu with a fair selection at a good price. The restaurant is nice and they have a wide selection of alcohol (Don't drink too much, you'll be annoying) and they play non-annoying music. What else can I say? Why go anywhere else if you are looking for a stress free, relaxed and enjoyable restaurant in a neighborhood full of annoying loud bar/restaurants.

World class museum! My only complaint was the lacking of English signs, but you could rent the audio tour for 300 yen (about $3). If you can read Japanese and you like Science and Nature, visit this museum. You could easily spend all day there.

[This is coming from a former 24 Hour Fitness member.] I really like this place. First off, it's a real gym, not a meat market, pick up joint, "seen and be seen" or hang out gym. It's a Real Gym that normal non-steroid muscle type people can feel very comfortable, welcomed at and enjoy. No one is going to pick up on you, distract you or stalk you through the gym. It's a place you can just go and work out at. They have the typical stuff; free weights, a bunch of machines, kettle bells, medicine balls, tread mills, elliptical, three different kinds of stationary bikes, personal training, group classes (Some free, some not), punching bags and a dance/workout space upstairs. The only downside I can think of is, they don't have A/C. Yep, in the middle of the summer, you are going to sweat (I work out in the morning, so I really don't notice). The owner, his wife and staff are nice and helpful and will give a few tips if you need a couple of quick pointers (You really should get some personal training sessions if you don't know what you are doing). They also have a Juice Bar and, if you go in the morning, a couple of dogs in the front. The bathrooms and changing rooms are clean and well taken care of and I never have had any problems with the equipment or the other patrons. Just a good place to work out.
