Overall the food at Bourbon Steak was good, and the service was excellent. My husband and I started with the large shellfish platter, which was pretty good. The best part of the platter was the sea urchin - this essentially tasted like delicate seafood butter. It just melted in my mouth. We then had a few salads - I had the wedge, which was decent but nothing special. I was a little underwhelmed here because I would have enjoyed the salad a bit more if it had a tad more blue cheese on it or a blue cheese dressing instead of the light (i.e. watery) ranch used. For my entree I ordered the Wagyu NY Strip loin, which was very good. It melted in my mouth as it should. The truffle mac and cheese was also delicious - very creamy. During the meal my husband inquired whether the bartender could make a spicy cocktail. The bartender was very accommodating and managed to create one of the best chili pepper infused beverages I've ever had. This was a nice surprise. Then we had dessert. This was honestly the most disappointing part of the meal. The crunchy profiteroles were nice, but the fat elvis did not live up to its name. There was nothing over indulgent about the fat elvis. It was possibly the blandest peanut butter banana dessert I've ever encountered. This was an unfortunate way to end our meal. Regarding the service - it was excellent. I wanted for nothing. The service was prompt, very helpful, and always polite. They were able to answer all of our questions and no one lingered too long at the table. Now, on a less pleasant note, there is the atmosphere issue. At first it was very nice - quiet with dim lighting - almost romantic. We were seated at a two top against a column. Which was fine until a group of loud, indiscreet, talking suits were seated next to us. At this point I realized our table was not prime real estate. Frankly, given that the restaurant was aware we were having a celebratory dinner, this was extremely disappointing. It was clear there were better situated tables where they could have placed us. The dining experience was not excellent enough to merit 5 stars. I didn't leave the meal with the appropriate level of whimsy. My feelings were more along the lines of "that was nice, but I'd do it differently next time". Perhaps we just didn't pick the right restaurant for our celebration. However, I will probably eat at Bourbon Steak again, but not for a special occasion and I probably wouldn't order the Wagyu again as it's not substantially better than an excellent filet mignon. As I said in the beginning, it was generally a good experience, and they had other items on the menu that sounded quite delicious.

Have only been to the bar, but it have superb cocktails, wonderful food,& great atmosphere. We tried several different cocktails, and they were all very smooth and delicious. Can't go wrong with the pulled pork cupcake! I love to come here before a show at The Kennedy Center. Makes for a perfect evening. #PerfectDayDC

I love Bourbon Steak. Beautifully nestled inside the Four Seasons the decor is spectacular as well as great service. The food is also great and their quarterly events (I went to the Pig Out) are always a hit!

This is currently my front runner for best burger in DC... topping even the excellent Rays Hellburger (now closed but still served at Rays To The Third). We get their 'bar lunch' special here pretty regularly: burger, 3 kinds of fries with 3 different dipping sauces, and a milkshake. One of the better upscale, bar lunch options that I've been able to find, and I've tried a lot of them.

Wow. Hands down the best steak I have ever eaten. The staff were all fantastic, the atmosphere was great and we had a great night. As you would expect this isn't a cheap restaurant, but also not stupidly priced. Me and my wife ate for $100. The little extra touches was what made this place special. My only moan, $5, each time, for a class of Coke (which was mostly ice!).

Birthday party with friends last night. Dined at this gorgeous place and can't say I had a single complaint! Food is heavenly, service is exceptional. If it wasn't so expensive, I'd go back every day!
