One of my new favorite places in San Diego! Excellent vegan/vegetarian menu. The best tofu I've ever had. I ordered a number 2 on the scale for spicy and it was just right for me. Ordered the mango "chicken" with plum sauce and the pineapple rice. Both amazing. The garlic "chicken" is hands down my favorite dish in San Diego. Comes with free salad and dessert. Can't wait to return again and again! Tip: If you're vegan, you can still request fruit as your dessert to substitute for the ice cream. Totally worth it since your mouth might be burning (and the raspberry sauce is wonderful). Heat index is MUCH higher here than other local places so order lower than you usually do.

Had lunch there today with its new name, Dao Fu, same ownership. NOT impressed at all. Why is everything in that runny rasberry-ish sauce? The pork in the vermicelli was fatty and full of gristle and the fresh shrimp spring rolls were a huge disappointment.

I like this restaurant's style. Great food, and totally unpretentious. Some of the best Pho soup I have had. Everything really tastes good. The tofu-salad raspberry vinaigrette is nice, as is the skewered chicken Kabob. I haven't had anything bad here. The garlic, eggplant and green bean dish is off the chain.

Fantastic food at a fantastic price. I go here all the time with my girlfriend and enjoy it every time. Highly reccomend to everybody! Even the vegetarian dishes are fantastic (this is coming from an avid meat eater!)

Oh my goodness to I love this place! The prices are reasonable, the food is incredible and they bring it right to you! What more could you ask for? My Vegan girlfriend loves that a full third of their menu is open to her, it's just great! The only 'not perfect' things about this place, areas where they can use some improvement are just little things some of which I think will get better with time. Sometimes the service is a little sporadic but I think it's that way because they need some more practice serving a constantly packed room. They seem to get a bit 'deer in the headlights' if you know what I mean. It's not terrible, not like you have to wait and hour for your dinner, more like you don't want to ask them for another drink because you don't want to get in there way. Know what I mean? The other inconsistency I found was with the level of hotness, it seems to vary a little either from day to day or chef to chef. The first time I ate there my '6' was nice and warm, then not so much, then it was more like a 7. I like spicy but I think I'll error on the side of safety and keep with a '5' from now on. Other than that, I honestly think this is one of the best casual neighborhood restaurants in the city.

I go to DaoFu (Tao) every week the House Curry Chicken is my favorite. Each dinner comes with free dessert and free Salad. The food is bursting with flavor, and the decor is interesting with peoples different drawings. If you are thinking of trying this place then go for it!
