This has been my go-to place in Southwest Detroit for years, especially when I am with poverty-stricken students. One year friends and I tried about a dozen local taquerias, & ended up back here! The $1 tacos are incredible (my fave is al pastor) and 2-3 are enough to fill up anyone! If you can handle more, order a bowl of beans--best cooked beans I've eaten in 20+ Mexican restaurants. People here are marvelous, the decor is very basic: Hey, it's a taqueria, not a fine dining establishment!

My wife told me about this place. She works in Downtown Detroit and was very happy with the lunch she had just had there. She said I "had to try it". We took a trip there the next weekend. I was so glad we went! This is just a little place, modestly decorated, but the food is wonderful. I couldn't have been any happier! If you're looking for fancy decor or need to have an alcoholic beverage with your meal, go elsewhere. If you're looking for great food at a very reasonable price, you've found it here. :)

Been going here 15+ years. I have tried every other restaurant in the area. I would rather eat taco bell than go anywhere else but to this place. Its the real deal Mexican food. My favorite thing here are the tacos. The simplest and most tasty thing there.

Taste so good and very cheap. 4 can eat under $20. Get the pork tacos you can't go wrong. Wow

Not Good,,, Won't be Back YUKOK the reviews are all great why I just don't get it, the chimichunga's the wife had were burnt to a crisp and no flavor in the ground meat inside. The owners have a 2 nd location called Los Alto's a little over a mile away which we're eaten at for years and is on my Favorites list. The place is dirty and both restrooms really filthy and nasty. The signs are old and faded also inside. Rice and beans flavorless. the red pozole was just pork chucks, broth and hominy again flavorless, and my all time favorite is at Los Alto's. The chorizo and egg taco's again no flavor, The best part was the Queso Flambo , chips were cold and stale. The owner really needs to perform a major make over to match the really nice sister Los Alto's. The service was great and friendly. Save your money go else where this place sucks,

It's my favorite place in Mexican town and maybe Detroit. This place is authentic and goes from the ppl that work the to the food they served. They only compare to those restaurants I went to when I visited Mexico.
