My husband and I had an overall great experience staying at FireSky. To start, the concierge was outstanding. Offering rides within a few miles from the hotel, we didn't have to deal with waiting for taxis. On they days we wanted to venture out, they gave recommendations of where to go out for lunch/diner, and where to hike and bike. Being from the flat lands, Camelback was an awesome hiking experience. We stayed in a clean, spacious 2nd floor room with a pool view, highly recommended. We were a little worried as to if we would have a good time by the pools with it being the beginning of September, and in the high 90s. The pool was kept cool, and their were plenty of chairs to sit in the shade or sun. If any of my friends or family ask me where to stay in AZ, this is the spot.

My daughter had her Bridal shower at the hotel. The room was gorgeous! The staff went above and beyond and made the day one she will never forget. Would definately recomend this hotel to anyone visiting the valley!

The first thing guests absolutely have to be aware of is that when booking through a third party (e.g. Hotwire, Priceline) you've already paid ALL the taxes and fees, INCLUDING the resort fee. When we checked out, the front desk attendant charged us $104 for the resort fee plus taxes on the resort fee (roughly $22/day) He didn't tell us that he was about to charge our card for that amount, he just did it. When I informed him that I had already paid for the resort fee when I booked through Priceline, and that I had confirmed that I paid my fees by calling FireSky right after I booked, he didn't believe me and asked that I show him proof. Fortunately, I still had my confirmation email from Priceline that included a line item for fees and taxes. Acting rather petulantly, he refunded my credit card but offered no apology for a blatant overcharge. How many people end up double paying the resort fee because they didn't realize that they already paid it? It's obviously highly improbable that we were the first ones double charged. This is completely unacceptable, and the front desk attendant's peevish, almost cavalier attitude, like WE did something wrong, was disconcerting. The pool at this resort is beautiful, and really the best thing it has going for it. However, they have a rule that you cannot use the pool or the hot tub after midnight. When I called to ask why, I was told by a VERY irritated front desk attendant that "rules are rules." No clear explanation was given. There is only one restaurant at this resort and the service is very average. The food is ok. The bartenders were friendly. The location is great, minutes from downtown Scottsdale. Overall, I was not impressed with the level of service, and especially dismayed by being double charged for a resort fee.

This was probably the worst Hotel, I have ever had. When we initial got there at noon our room wasn't ready which is understandable concentering that check in is 4:00pm. So we then decided to hang out at the pool, but there were no pool towels available so we scratched that. We went to the bar to have lunch and we meet Will the bartender, who was very pleasant and had lunch. After lunch we walked around, and that's when I noticed the pool view on the first floor like we requested was starring at the pool gate. So I went to the front desk and asked if there was something on the 2nd floor but there really wasn't anything available, so I asked if we could just get the Lagoon view instead even though was still charged for pool view. The lady at the front desk did try to accommodate our group and but us together. Here is when it gets fun, we asked the restaurant if they can accommodate 10ppl as we were celebrating two birthday parties. They got us set up pretty much in the middle of the restaurant. Our server came and got our drink and appetizer order, told us about the specials. We were talked and joking around like a normal group of 10 would. That's when our waiter came and told us we need to be QUIET we are way too loud, it was bothering other guests. At this point we had probably only been in the restaurant for about 30 minutes and have a group of 10ppl, how can you ask ten people to stop talking. I didn't realize that we were in a library and not a restaurant. We have been to restaurants all over the valley including 5 stars restaurants and resorts and never ever had someone basically tell us to shut up. Everyone at the table was very offended so we all got up and left, went to another restaurant in Old Town Scottsdale that was more than Happy to take our group and enjoyed having us. This experience could have been handled in a more professional matter instead of the way it was. That just shows us the lack of experience the staff has.

The FireSky Resort, is our home away from home during MLB Spring Training. We (Rick and I) come out every March and love staying at this resort. We have been staying there, me for the last 4 years, and for Rick -- ever since the resort was The Sunburst! The Firesky property is beautiful, relaxing and very welcoming...a tropical paradise in the desert. The fire pit areas are a great place to hang out at night with a bottle or 2 or 3 of wine and good friends (and to meet new ones). For pet-owners, the property is pet-friendly!! The Resort’s staff is friendly, helpful, professional and respectful….and, it seems, with little to zero personnel turnaround. We are greeted by the same staff year-after-year. Speaking of the staff…… Valet Staff, in particular, Mike, Brian and Jeremy. They’ve been greeting us, at least for the last 4 years. It's always great to see them upon our arrival. We know our vacation has really started when we see them! Thanks guys for (1) taking care of our transportation needs, and (2) providing restaurant recommendations and for making reservations too! Their recommendations have been RIGHT ON! AND, these guys will even provide a ride to the pharmacy/supermarket (and wait for you)!! A special "thank you" to Mike for the special arrangement in getting us to Hohokum Stadium during our recent visit....we owe you! Front Desk/Reservation staff is quite accommodating. (Gail) you rock lady and you're funny too! Thanks for always working with Rick on our reservations and getting us the room(s) that Rick ask for year after year (except for that gliche last year). Glad we finally met you this past visit. Bartenders are friendly, especially Benny! He’s like family. Benny is always there when we come to visit. A greeting from Benny makes you feel like you’ve come home. However, we missed Benny during our recent visit. It's the first time we didn't see Benny during any of our stay at the resort. We were sad when we didn't see him as we approached, what we consider, “Benny’s Bar”. Just wasn’t the same. But, we do have to thank the other bartenders for keeping us hydrated ;-) "Thanks" you guys/gals are great, too. The guest rooms are clean and comfortable, but we do feel that it's time for some updating to be done. Making them a little brighter and updating some of the furnishing would be nice. Overall, we always enjoy our time at the Firesky and plan on returning again and again. See you next March, if not sooner! Annette & Rick (and Tom, too)

My husband and I recently celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary at the FireSky Resort and had an amazing time. We were upgraded to a room with patio opening to what are beautiful grounds and were thrilled to find in our room, upon arrival, a bottle of champagne - compliments of the staff (thank you!). The location is perfect. We enjoyed several runs to and over Camelback Mountain (roundtrip... about 8 miles for those of you who love to run) along with a more relaxing run along the canal. We took advantage of their shuttle service and had dinner nearby at The Mission and Citizen Public House. We also dined in one evening at Taggia (I recommend the scallops and Tiramisu). Our waitress was exceptional - personable and funny. The pool area is very pretty (although we did struggle to find a little patch of sun as there are many trees - perfect setting for the hot weather). Hope to visit again!

We have only stayed once, but it wont be the last. Let me start with the staff. These people truly care and it shows. They went above and beyond from check in to check out, in addition made an extra effort to accommodate our every need. The hotel is awesome. Smack dab in the middle of busy Scottsdale yet you'd never know it. Quiet, relaxing yet romantic and magical with the fire torches and water features. The bed was more comfortable than my own, and the room was great. There is one dislike ; having to leave. Thank you Firesky for an unforgettable experience.
