I'd really like to take part in Google's Local Experts program, honest, but there just aren't enough places to go in Austin that I can afford on a regular basis. Not unless they want reviews of gas stations, post offices, and convenience stores, which, honestly, who would read that?

Doesn't stop ya from doing reviews on all the free stuff! Parks, trails, sights, etc. Maybe Free Festival expert?

So a mariachi cover of "Digital Love" happened, and it's not half bad.

Hey everyone,

Okay, first off, welcome to Extra Life 2013! We're going to have a busy year, so be ready to be more than just a warm body. We need you to put your skills to work -- whether that's graphic design, project management, or an amazing recipe for cookies -- so we can play games and heal kids.

A couple of things I want to bring to your attention for this year:
-There are a lot of restrictions with underage volunteers, so:
-We don't want or need liability for underage drinking. For this reason, we decided that most meetings will take place in places where you need to be of age
-No one under 18 can volunteer for any event without a parent/legal guardian present for supervision (this is a legal thing, so no arguments and no exceptions)
-Because Austin traffic sucks, we'd like to have a north crew and a south crew this year. If you're interested in leading one of these crews, please say something
-Got a friend that wants to join or might be interested? Great. Forward this event to them. We want a big, active street team.
-Know a business or organization that might be interested in working with Extra Life? Fantastic. Let's talk.

Finally, the info you've been waiting on: Our first meeting will be at Crow Bar on April 17th at 7:00 p.m. During this meeting, we will be assigning roles for the year, so if you have a skillset that you would like to develop or a talent that you think we need, now is the time to speak up (I'm always on Google Talk and in my email).

See you next month!

Starting to get seriously weirded out by the number of fake accounts adding me to their circles. Like, seriously? You're going to spoof a ghost town?

Extra Life Austin is meeting tomorrow in the conference room at Dell Children's Medical Center. Come on by, bring a friend, and help us get the word out that we're here to pwn noobs and heal kids.

My work is looking for a Tequila Brand Champion for the Miami market. If you love tequila and know your way around 360 degree marketing strategy and execution, Greenhouse Agency is a great company to work for.

A good shot of Austin, bc the pedestrian bridge on South First is the only vantage point with a lack of crazy in it.

Introduction

Professional social/interactive manager looking for a new gig. Former Social Interactive Manager for Greenhouse Agency and the Brown-Forman Brand Champions Program, committee chair and social media manager for @ExtraLifeATX, Social Media & Community Manager for @CerebralFix and @ExtraLifeHou. Gamer. Crocheter. Nail artist.  Semi-fluent in Japanese. Nothing would make me happier than waking up one morning to discover I've suddenly figured out how to be funny. Or how not to be broke. Either way.

Bragging rights
I went to SXSW 2012 and spent less than $40 the whole time. I'm freaking awesome. My fried rice brings all the boys to the yard.

You know how brisket is the go-to at most barbecue places? Well, while it's good here, the chop and the sausage are not to be missed! They're insanely tender, ridiculously fresh, and unequivocally delicious. The smoker is inside the place, and you will leave smelling delicious. Nothing to lose!

Okay, look, I know -- _I know_ -- I shouldn't be lauding the praises of KFC, but when you want greasy fried chicken, you want greasy fried chicken. And to be honest, this is probably the fastest KFC I've ever been to. Most of them eat up my lunch break, and I'm stuck with greasy chicken fingers at my desk, with everyone around me asking why I had to bring that back to the office when they're on a diet. All in all, sure, the place isn't great, but at least it's fast.

Look, let's face it: Most sandwich places, especially the chain ones, are the same, no matter where you go. What makes this location different? The staff! My debit card was missing, and they actually held my order for me while I went to a bank to get cash. How cool is that? I'll be back if for no other reason than a reasonable expectation that saying, "Hold the lettuce," will always result in a lettuce-free sandwich.

While the drink selection is great and there's a lot to say for all the games, the crowd truly sucks, and the Mortal Kombat 3 machine's low kick is busted on both sides.

Okay, first off, I'm a sucker for dolmas. Secondly, I'm a bigger sucker for lamb. Thirdly, put both of those on a plate and give me two more sides, and I'll believe anything you want as soon as the food coma hits.

There's a lot to be said for a joint on Dirty 6th that isn't so packed, you can't move and isn't so empty, it's boring.

Drinks are meh. Crowd is meh. But if you feel like being an exhibitionist, the pole dancing platform is dope.
