NASCAR likes everyone to have their time at the front and Corvette had theirs last year so now they get a restrictor to let BMW enjoy some success.

Introduction

John Dagys is a international motorsports journalist and photographer who specializes in the coverage of sportscar and endurance racing. For the past seven years, he's traveled the globe reporting on professional auto racing series including the American Le Mans Series, GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series, FIA World Endurance Championship, FIA GT1 World Championship, European Le Mans Series, Asian Le Mans Series, Blancplain Endurance Series and the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup.

John got his start in motorsports in 2005 when he co-founded The-Paddock.net, a sportscar racing news and features Web site. The ambitious project quickly grew to one of the leading independent outlets covering European and American sportscar racing, and featured the work of over a dozen writers and photographers.

After a successful two-and-a-half year stint as chief editor, John stepped away from his start-up site in late 2007 to pursue other writing opportunities. He joined Motorsport.com as a writer and associate editor and spent the 2008 season covering events such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Rolex 24 at Daytona and the Twelve Hours of Sebring.

John also split his time reporting on the American Le Mans Series for Trackbytes.com, as well as doing freelance work for clients such as Michelin Motorsports, B-K Motorsports and Intersport Racing.

In 2009, John joined SPEED.com, where he currently serves as the site's Sportscar Racing Reporter. Primarily covering the ALMS and GRAND-AM, John has also taken an increased role in photography, supplying SPEED.com with professional-grade images for each event he covers.

John has also expanded his photography services to drivers and teams in the sport. Recent clients include Multimatic Motorsports, PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports and Genoa Racing.

He graduated from Columbia College Chicago in May 2009, with a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism - News Reporting and Writing and is a co-author of the 2009 American Le Mans Series Official Yearbook.
