Oh wow!!  This I would love to see!

"Skywatchers in the Americas are catching a rare celestial show as the Earth's shadow falls across the Moon.

The Moon has begun changing colour from orange to blood red or brown in a total lunar eclipse."

Skeletons unearthed in London Crossrail excavations are Black Death victims from the great pandemic of the 14th Century, forensic tests indicate.

Their teeth contain DNA from the plague bacterium Yersinia pestis and their graves have been dated to 1348-50.

Records say thousands of Londoners perished and their corpses were dumped in a mass grave outside the City, but its exact location was a mystery.

Archaeologists now believe it is under Charterhouse Square near the Barbican.

Our world is full of weird and wonderful creatures, many of which amaze scientists and non-scientists, alike. But is it true that a living tortoise could have started its life in the the first half of the 19th Century?

Plantation House in St Helena sits proud amid gumwood trees alive with chirps and whistles.

It is the official residence of Mark Capes, Governor of the British Overseas Territories in the South Atlantic. I have not come to see the governor, nor the large brown hillocks which dot the pristine lawns.

It's only when my guide Joe Hollis, the sole vet on the island, bangs on a large metal bowl, that all becomes clear. The hillocks rise and trot surprisingly swiftly towards us.

Scientists in Portugal have identified what they think may have been the largest predator ever to roam across the European landmass.

Fossil bones from the dinosaur were pulled from a cliff at Praia da Vermelha just north of Lisbon.

Known as Torvosaurus gurneyi, this ferocious beast would have been some 10m in length and weighed perhaps 4-5 tonnes.

Luxury automaker Porsche has revealed the first car designed by its founder was electric, in a show at its museum in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen, Germany.

Ferdinand Porsche's design was dubbed the Egger-Lohner electric vehicle C.2 Phaeton model, or the P1 for short.

The car, made in 1898, was recently unearthed in an Austrian garage, where it had been stored since 1902.

A PhD student has allowed bees to sting him 190 times - to find out which part of the body it hurts the most.

Michael Smith, from Cornell University, chose 25 locations around his body to let the bee sting him.

Despite subjecting himself to barbs in intimate areas, Mr Smith found that the most painful area was the inside of his nostril.

Sensitive information should not be sent over public wi-fi hotspots, to avoid hackers stealing it, Europe's top cybercrime police officer has warned.

Troels Oerting, head of Europol's cybercrime centre, told BBC Click people should send personal data only across networks they trusted.

He said the warning was motivated by the growing number of attacks being carried out via public wi-fi.

Very interesting!

"Scientists have shed light on what ancient Europeans looked like.

Genetic tests reveal that a hunter-gatherer who lived 7,000 years ago had the unusual combination of dark skin and hair and blue eyes.

It has surprised scientists, who thought that the early inhabitants of Europe were fair."

Story
Introduction
I live very close to the sea in Devon,  South West England.
Love animals,  get on better with them than I do some humans.
I used to have 9 pet ferrets,  a lot of work but great fun!

Folk music,  vintage and classic cars and my computer are among my interests.
I also was a member of the English Civil War Society and the Sealed Knot and had great fun taking part in the re-enactments which raised money for charity. .
