Another interesting issue that may have important social implication. Data is collected everywhere - the caveat here is "school environment". To what extent do parents implicitly consent to such data collection, and is it actually useful? I don't know the answer, do you?

OK, I might have posted this before. But had been chatting with a friend in immigration law, and this has been a really serious problem. Remember, "notario" , "notary public", "paralegal" or "legal assistant" or "clerk" does not necessarily equal a licensed attorney. It is a good idea to actually go to your state's bar website to check if and when you "attorney" got licensed. Also, make sure he or she is licenses for your state, or has special permission to work as a lawyer in your state.

Yeah, these non-compete agreements... but California doesn't really enforce generic non-compete agreements (or any non-competes, with some exceptions).

Too much or not enough of immigration is the question. California is already answering this question for itself.

Elder abuse is very very common, and often victims don't / can't communicate. If you have a loved one is skilled nursing, rehab center, assisted living, or hospice, then be on the watch.

There had been some alarming shifts in states' abortion policies. This is a part of bigger constitutional debate: Is Roe v. Wade still as powerful as it once used to be? And why these current changes actually originate in state legislatures?

Are you thinking about "escaping" jury service? Please don't. This is a unique opportunity to actually exercise your rights and to understand better how our legal system functions.

Scary stuff, is an old school family doctor likely to be found anywhere? To much reliance on technology? May be.

Well, living in SF has its own challenges. I guess one has to just get used to many bizarre things...
