the only caution I would give is that a lady in my church reportedly found her mother's journal after she died and was horrified at the inner thoughts and sinful attitudes revealed therein.  It further traumatized her in a time of grief.  These journals can be found and seen.  Anyone who uses this method must consider that.  Perhaps, if redemption of those thoughts is woven through?  How the writer deals with sinful attitudes in a positive, constructive, Christ-exalting manner could be included?  Perhaps that is what you do.  Just a thought.
