"Great news on Bleeding Cool today (and how often do you get to say that?) with Rich Johnston bringing us up-to-date on the republishing of Jerome Charyn and Joe Staton’s Family Man, originally published by Paradox Press in 1993.

Of the two people involved Charyn is likely to be the least known to comic fans – he is an American author who has over fifty published works over a 50-year span. Although he was first published in 1960 it was with Blue Eyes (1975), featuring the debut of detective Isaac Sidel his writing attracted praise. Michael Chabon has called him “one of the most important writers in American literature”

I cannot recommend highly enough this review of Jerome Charyn's next novel, JERZY, a kind of Catch-22 romp through the world of Jerzy Kosinski, whose The Painted Bird exploded literary world - he was their darling when a film made of Being There won an Oscar fo Peter Sellers, but love turned to hate with accusations of plagiarism that drove him to suicide.

Nice feature on Bellevue Lit Press, the publishing house smart enough to publish Jerome Charyn's wonderful "A Loaded Gun" AND to have found the Pulitzer prizewinning "Tinkers" - they're awesome.
