O'Hara's Food & Spirits is a classic neighborhood grille located in the heart of Newton Highlands. Family owned and operated, the restaurant has been a focal point of the Highlands since it opened in 1985. O'Hara's features a warm and welcoming atmosphere accented by dark wood, a sprawling horseshoe bar, and gracious paned windows. The restaurant is a gathering spot for young and old, families and children. This is a place where people know each other because they are regulars. In fact, some think of O'Hara's as their second kitchen.
O'Hara's is about food – a distinctive and creative variety of menu choices prepared fresh daily using only the finest ingredients; all at reasonable prices that insure you will come back again and again. O’Hara’s has been featured in Boston Magazine’s Best of Boston, Boston Globe’s Dining Out and Cheap Eats, as well as in WCVB’s Chronicle and NECN’s TV Diner with Billy Costa, where the gold plate was awarded.

A great pub, with great food, wonderful service, and fun ambience. The food here is pub food, yes, but the kitchen turns out great quality and comfortable dishes at a nice clip. The bartenders are always friendly, often Irish, and they know their pints. Good for a group, or a lunch during the workday, or a beer after. The O'Hara brothers also own Paddy's Pub in Newtonville. They are equally wonderful with their own charm and character. Check them both out!

O'Hara's is one of my favorite restaurants to go for a relaxing Friday night. With a fun lively bar atmosphere - you may have a wait for a table so go be sure to head over early if you are going on the weekend! The nachos are a must have appetizer.

O'Hara's is a typical Irish Pub. If you are an unaccompanied woman, you will be subjected to the age-old stereotype that women who go to bars alone are out for "something" else, especially if you shirk their advances. If you want to be accosted and judged by a bunch of old-school drunk losers with their outdated prejudices and their hideous female counterparts, be my guest. O'Hara's is the place for you. The food is ok though. The beers are kinda disappointing. Last time I was there they had almost no local beers. The wine list is good if $3 Chuck's is your standard.

solid cuisine. wish they'd bring back the creamy italian dressing though and the boston cream pie. sort of feels like it's going downhill in food quality.

I love O'Hara's. It's not just your basic pub food -- it's comfort food. Service is quick and friendly, too. It gets quite crowded on the weekends, but they have a huge bar -- it's easy to grab a drink and enjoy while you wait for a table to open up.
