Is this Google+ thing Dead?
Would love your thoughts...my quick answer is no.

The first thing to address I think is why? Why Google+ when you already have a facebook and a linked-in & twitter? There are lots of discussions about Google+ duplicating Facebook. There's really no incentive to "move" your content from a beloved platform where you have exposure to 800 million people to a new one with significantly less membership. BUT, having said that, Facebook began as a social site in the truest sense of the word...a place where friends connect. I believe these new Facebook changes communicate that it is gearing itself even more so toward the personal side of the spectrum than the business. The advertising video spots for "timeline" are VERY personal. My feeling is that Google + differentiates (or SHOULD differentiate) itself with it's business pages. Facebook has not been strong in this arena. Several companies that have emerged to create custom business pages/tabs/applications, etc. to fill in the gaps that Facebook left wide open.

There is so much to say on this matter, but I actually think it's just getting started.

With the freedom to add people you don't know to circles, the willingness of people to accept those invitations because it IS such a new platform and the power of the most intelligent search engine in the world collecting all of your information/data, I think we have yet to see what the powers that be in Googleville have in store.

Thanks for listening,
