Awesome stuff...gotta love the cornhole.
Brief screencast I did today of +Plywood Connected cornhole project. Backed by a Yun, +Adafruit Industries NeoPixels, a MQTT to +Firebase bridge, and +Polymer scoreboard goodness.

Longer video in works of game play with both boxes and some giant scoreboards. :-)

Please RSVP on Meetup:

Hot off the heals of the Oakdale Innovation Center launch event, just how exactly did all those status panels and games actually work?

At this meetup, we'll be exploring the inner workings of how exactly cornhole and miniature golf went from low tech to internet connected things including:

1) Behind the electronics: how simple off the shelf electronics can be wired for advanced game play and how we designed custom 3D parts to fill the gaps.

2) Building bridges: how we bridged MQTT with Firebase

3) Real time is the only time: how we did it with Polymer, Service Worker, and Google Cloud Platform.

Missed the games? No worries, we'll have them setup for some real time fun!

6:00 - 6:30 Networking and Light Appetizers

6:30 - 6:45 Announcements

6:45 - 7:00 Behind the electronics of the buildings

7:00 - 7:15  AVR and C: what you need to know

7:15 - 7:30  Building bridges with MQTT and Firebase

7:30 - 7:45  Real time is the only time

8:00 - 9:00 Wrap up and play some games

+Justin Ribeiro Did you see this?
Believe it or not, Docker, Linux's hottest container software, is now available on Microsoft Azure. Oh, and Microsoft has open-sourced its code. Will miracles never cease!?

Note that all of these quotes are from the Verge's article.
"The Apple Watch ... is kind of slow."

"Sometimes apps take forever to load, and sometimes third-party apps never really load at all. Sometimes it’s just unresponsive for a few seconds while it thinks and then it comes back."

"It’s also surprisingly heavy."

"[The] side button is extraordinarily confusing."

"In the first of many moments where the Watch felt underpowered, I found that the screen lit up a couple of ticks too slowly: I’d raise my wrist, wait a beat, and then the screen would turn on."

"Having a screen that constantly flips on and off is definitely behind the curve."

"There’s no particularly great digital face, and there’s no ability to load up your own watch faces or buy new ones from the store."

"There’s no master switch to turn all notifications on and off, which is a huge pain."

"By the end of each day, I was hyper-aware of how low the Apple Watch battery had gotten."

"You only get a charging cable, which is lame. For $700, you should a nice charging stand, like you get with the $249 Moto 360."

"There’s virtually nothing I can’t do faster or better with access to a laptop or a phone except perhaps check the time."

"There’s no question that the Apple Watch is the most capable smartwatch available today."

John Oliver continues to impress me.  His interview of Snowden was handled very well.  The way to get people to open their eyes to surveillance was brilliant.  #NoDickPicProgram

+Justin Ribeiro +James Duvall IV Doing great job with their introduction to Firebase. They are doing a month long focus on Firebase and ending with a hackathon. Excellent work you two! Keep it up. The Firebase cupcakes were awesome!
