HRA question of the week:

Does the thought of 100% "not provided" KWs in analytics freak you out or at this point is it a non-issue? #hqw

Analytics has been returning 50% not providing and growing as it is for the past 12 months +. Have we been conditioned to rely on it less over that time? Probably. It is still a blow to have an area of data sudden go dark. How you use the data has been debated, but removing it is a pain, rather than a source of "freaking out"

Great points... the focus on content has replaced a lot of the link-flooding techniques of the last several years.  Thanks for posting this!

Yes, I've seen blog posts I've written that have 900+ tweets rank higher and stay in the SERPs longer than posts on the same blog with 300+ tweets.

I don't believe that it's necessarily all related to the volume of social shares, rather how much influence the sharee has in their niche (similar to backlinks from authoritive sites).

1. Keyword stuffing (seriously)
2. Excessive inter-linking
3. Meta keyword tag
4. Duplicate content on numerous build out pages with only the location changed throughout the content.

We use the AdWords Keyword Tool to help determine the competitiveness of specific phrases for our SEO campaigns. Additionally, we use that same tool to find suggested terms we might not have thought of.
