I t has been over 2 years since I have posted here, but I plan to share more often.  I hope everyone hasn't forgotten me :-) This was taken along the south fork Hoh river and quickly scrambled to squeeze off a few shots before the light faded.  Nothing epic here but I have been trying to capture this kind of light for years now.  Thanks for stopping by!

My buddy Paul Bowman and I made a mad dash for the mountain a couple weekends ago and ran up the trail to mazama ridge as the sky was looking sweet. There were very few flowers left.  By the time sunset hit, this lenticular was all that remained in the sky.  It complimented the scene well and was a great trip.  Got to meet and shoot with +Chip Phillips .  A great guy and fun to hang with.  I purchased his editing video and it is easy to follow, quality audio/video, and learned a bunch of new editing techniques.  highly recommended. #mountainmonday   #mtrainier   #mtrainiernationalpark   #sunset   #lenticular   #wildflowers

We only had one full day of clouds and diffused light in Glacier.  We explored Siyeh creek for a couple hours before sunset.  Thats Cataract mountain on the horizon. #glaciernationalpark   #wildflowers

Had a great time at Rainier on Saturday with +Brian Adelberg and Alex Mody.  Ran into a bunch of other photog friends.  Sunrise was a bust and we spent the day scouting for sunset comps.  We hit pinnacle peak and mazama ridge and found the most profuse fields of flowers I have ever seen.  Sunset was nothing short of spectacular.  Good clouds, good light, great flowers, no wind, and both Rainier and the Tatoosh were visible.  50 skeeter bites never felt so good.  I was exited to see the gift shop at paradise inn have the mugs with my image on the shelf.  A super cool and productive 1 day trip.   #mountainmonday   #mtrainiernationalpark   #wildflowers   #sunset   #plusphotoextract

I have been waiting for years to return to this magical land.  I think my visit to Glacier Nat'l Park 5 years ago was a big part of why nature photography has become the driving force of my life.  I am thankful I was able to make the trip with a fellow dedicated photographer +Jeremy Cram.  We left early Friday morning in hopes to reach the park for sunset as it looked to be the most promising of the days we would be in the park.  We arrived at Logan Pass 30 minutes before sunset, and after visiting with our friend +Michael Bollino for a minute, walked/ran up to this view.  The light was fading fast and I had to scramble for a comp, but think it turned out ok.  The memory of this evening will stand out for a long time to come.   #glaciernationalpark   #sunset   #wildflowers   #plusphotoextract   #mountainmonday

I headed out to reflection lake at Rainier on Thursday night despite the lack of clouds in the forecast.  It was still frozen over except 2 small spots.  The surrounding area to bench/snow lakes are under feet of snow.  There were some decent size bare spots in the lower paradise flower fields, but the majority is buried.  After shooting until the light got too harsh, I decided to head home and get some z's.  On my way I noticed a good sized cloud bank  hovering above the helens area, So I sucked it up and headed to Johnston ridge for sunset.  By the time I got there the clouds were gone:-{  So I took a swim in Coldwater lake to wake me up and then hit some trails at the top and lowitt vp to find some flowers for sunset.  Thye paintbrush is coming along nicely, but hardly no lupine yet.  After sunset I drank my 9-13th shot of espresso on the trip and drove home.  Can't wait to do it again this weekend!  Thanks for looking. #plusphotoextract   #mtsthelens   #volcano   #sunset   #wildflowers

My first visit to this waterfall a couple of years ago was on a sunny day and put some nice long gouges in my paint trying to reach it.  On my way back from Mckenzie pass on Friday, the conditions were perfect so I gave it another go.  The moss surrounding the falls is so thick and lush, it's really a cool scene.

This year I am going to diversify my subject matter a bit more than previous years.  So I wanted to knock out my favorite waterfalls asap.  This is one of the wildest and pristine places in the Gifford Pinchot.  +Dustin Gent joined me on this outing. #plusphotoextract   #waterfall   #wilderness
