Introduction

Jamie Staton is the Sports Director and Weekday Sports Anchor at WMUR-TV. He joined Channel 9 in 1998. Catch all of his highlights and feature stories weekdays at 5, 6, and 11pm.

Jamie has been "along for the ride" with the recent success of Boston sports teams; He has covered 3 Super Bowls, 2 World Series, 2 NBA Finals, and the Stanley Cup Finals. He has also covered three college hockey Frozen Fours, all three American League Championship Series between the Red Sox and Yankees, 30 Nascar Sprint Cup Races at NHMS, the U.S. Ski Championships, and Spring Training. He has hosted the Friday Night High School Football Report for 14 seasons.

Jamie has also been a Heisman Trophy voter for the past 15 years.

Jamie is a spokesman for the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth and helped to found their "Battle of the Badges" hockey game. He also hosts events like the Miss NH Scholarship Program, NH Legends of Hockey Banquet, and the Ace Bailey Golf Tournament.

Before joining the WMUR News 9 sports team Jamie most recently worked as Sports Anchor at WOWK-TV a CBS affiliate in Charleston, W.V. He has also worked at Fox affiliates in Martinsburg, W.V., and Bowling Green, Kentucky. He is a native of Windham, NH. He attended Pinkerton Academy and was inducted into the school's Hall Of Fame in 2004.
