Of all the pictures I've taken in Taiwan so far, this one has got to be one of my favorites.

Well, I did it. I signed papers to purchase a new motorcycle this morning. In about 4 weeks I'll be receiving my brand new 2014 Sportster 1200 Custom! I'm so excited...and even more excited to then get my custom paint job done on it. :D  Hard Candy Voodoo Purple Flake, you're going to look A-MAZ-ING!!!!  This will certainly be a nice upgrade from the Honda Rebel 250 I've been riding. Which to be fair, was an awesome learner bike. Now to survive the next 4 weeks without driving myself crazy with anticipation!

We just updated our Transparency Report, showing how many requests Google gets for information about its users. But we're not allowed to give the full story because the U.S. government says that requests under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) must be kept secret. We can tell you this: Requests have more than doubled around the world since 2009, and more than tripled in the U.S.: http://g.co/u5sp

Share this if you believe you have a right to know what our governments are up to.

Hmmm

Why the holy hell should anybody have to "pick up the tab for all the added traffic demand" ... I'm paying <insertISPname> for 6Gbps+. If they can't provide the bandwidth guaranteed in the contract, then that's their f#$king problem. </rant>
Have your Netflix streams been much more laggy or choppy in recent months? If so then you're not alone. As The Wall Street Journal shows, Netflix streaming quality has tanked at multiple major ISPs...

From an ISP's point of view, if you colocate your servers there it's reasonable that you should pay for space, electricity and bandwidth as well though. The market should be two-way

Cisco to NSA: F*ck you!

If you still wonder about how much damage the NSA is causing to  the United States, not only as the advocate of freedom and human rights but also to US-based businesses, ... this should tell you:

Today, Cisco came out with their quarterly financial report. They expected to grow, but because of NSA's actions they experienced a dramatic drop:

"Cisco has seen a huge drop-off in demand for its hardware in emerging markets, which the company blames on fears about the NSA using American hardware to spy on the rest of the world."

"Analysts had expected Cisco’s business in emerging markets to increase 6%, but instead it dropped 12%, sending shares of Cisco plunging 10% in after-hours trading."

"Cisco saw orders in Brazil drop 25% and Russia drop 30%."

"Cisco chief executive John Chambers said on the company’s earnings call that he believes other American technology companies will be similarly affected"

~via http://goo.gl/kSce7q

How is that for national security?

I just hope it won't affect Cisco's employees... because people just love losing their job.

This follows how, yesterday, Google absolutely hammered NSA for their damaging behavior: http://goo.gl/T8HP8g

And on top of this, the NSA is hurting the internet itself. For years, the internet has become more global. People were starting to think of themselves as part of global community. We no longer distinguished between where people lived, only how they acted.

But because of NSA, we have been thrown back to the old version of the internet. And people are now starting to discuss the 'balkanization of the internet', in which the internet is divided up into country specific zones.

In other words. The NSA is not only hurting US national security and national interests, but they are also the greatest threat to our common global community.

Through their actions, they are forcing our world apart, when we should come together.

NSA, you have caused more harm to the US than any terrorist could ever hope to achieve.

I'm a geek, an amateur photographer, a foodie, and a dog lover. I appreciate a good sense of humor as much as a stunning intellect. I'm weird and friendly and a little random with what I post. Hi!

I know Kung Fu! Not really, but I can cook damn near anything. I can crochet and I am currently teaching myself to knit. I rescue dogs and grew up with horses. I can fix your computer...but don't really want to. I love to travel and have been to many different countries including Ireland, Spain, France, Italy, Scotland, England, and Taiwan. I love getting piercings, want a tattoo but can't decide what or where, and ride a Harley. I am me, and make no apologies for it.

We were ignored when we walked in and ended up seating ourselves. Service was slow and pretty awful. Trying to pry our servers eyes off the football game to get me a drink refill was tedious! The food isn't what I'd call "Mexican". Neither is the decor or choice of music. The salsa tasted like canned tomato sauce with some cilantro and onions thrown in... Maybe a nice place if you just want to sit at the bar, but I was not impressed *at all*.
