For anyone using the development version (v0.9.2), a change was made today to the name of a key dataset in in the Galacticus::HDF5 Perl module, which is used in extracting data from Galacticus outputs. The "volumeWeight" dataset is now called "mergerTreeWeight" for consistency with the name of the dataset as stored in the output file. If your analysis scripts complain that the "volumeWeight" dataset can't be found then just change the name to "mergerTreeWeight".

When you're tired of debugging your code, waste time by computing various interesting metrics instead!

A quick weekend project, learning about Levenshtein distance, means +Galacticus will now offer up suggestions for what you really meant if you misspell a parameter name.

I'll be starting a new job in June, as the Hale Distinguished Scholar in Theoretical Astrophysics at the Carnegie Observatories here in Pasadena! Can't wait to start! And now, it must be time to open the champagne........!

Nice summary of the recent Nature editorial. The argument any non-trivial code can not be described in natural language is key - the code itself is the only accurate description.
