When using Discovery proxy service to hold all addresses of services currently available in network, you need to have your service announce its presence in network. For this you have to configure your service to announce its online and offline messages. To configure service to announce messages to network, you need to add an UdpDiscoveryEndpoint to your services endpoint list. You can do this either via code or via configuration file.

 Announcement endpoint of a discovery proxy service is that endpoint where WCF services will send messages to when it comes online in the network. Discovery proxy service will receive this message through the announcement endpoint and will store the service address in its cache and will provide it to client on request. This endpoint can be configured both via code and via configuration file.

 In this article, we will see how to create a discovery proxy for Managed mode discovery service and how to use it from client side to discover available services. In Managed mode discovery service, there is a centralized server called a discovery proxy that maintains information about available WCF services. The discovery proxy can be populated with information about WCF services in a variety of ways. How the discovery proxy is populated is up to the developer. In our example, we will let the WCF services to send announcement messages during startup to the discovery proxy to determine what services are available. Discovery proxy will hold those information and clients can use the discovery proxy to retrieve information about available services.

WPF applications support rich media and graphics, this require styles and styles can be reusable across different window or element in WPF. Here we need a mechanism by which we can share this style across different window or say application. By adding the style in application resource file, we can share it across windows in application but not across application. Here reusable styles need to be utilized and in a managed way. Here WPF provide an easy way to manage these styles and other reusable resources which can be used across WPF windows and across application. This is called Resources Dictionary. We can define the styles in WPF XAML files and can manage all our useful styles for a particular application in a resource dictionary file. This resources dictionary can then be referred from other WPF projects and can use the styles in this resources dictionary in that project.
