Did you join any of our Chinese New Year events at libraries in London or museums in Oxford recently? All our events were very popular and busy!

In order to make it great again, we have started to plan for our next big Chinese Festival: Dragon Boat Festival. If you love dragons, stories and fun activities, you won't want to miss this opportunity to celebrate the next big Chinese Festival: Dragon Boat Festival (which falls on 18th June this year).

Head over to our website to see videos from the previous year Dragon boat festival.

Chinese celebrate the Lunar New Year for 15 days from the New Year Day to the Lantern Festival. On 24th February, after we will spend a week in the Year of the Dog, Snowflake Books will turn the quiet Balham Library into a riot of colour, music, storytelling, Dragon dancing, learning Mandarin, making lanterns and plus many more fun activities!

Book your tickets below. We look forward to you celebrating with us!

We've made a special game based on this Eastern tradition. You'll have a chance to play the game with us at one of our events. You form your question in your mind and then throw the moon blocks to see if the god will answer. If he agrees you draw a numbered lot stick from the vase and then look up the answer. But, like the old Greek oracle at Delphi, you may have to puzzle over what the answer means.

Check out our video on the blog which shows two young boys asking Buddha for advice.

Not long now until our first event for Chinese New Year at The Oxfordshire Museum next weekend! Take a look at our previous event we did there to see what kind of things to expect.

A lot of lovely people, grown-ups and children, came to our Eastern fun event at Woodstock Museum-- some shy and some not so shy! Everyone found something to do, quiet or noisy! Our animated reading of the traditional story The Dragon Princess was watched with rapt attention and many people enjoyed the quality of our original book illustrations and bought signed prints to take home along with their free balloon. Dragon dancing is always fun and even grownups joined in.
