For those of you who aren't Doctor Who fans - this post isn't really about Doctor Who, though the video above prompted this post and is a good example of my points. As I was watching all the different Doctor Who opening credi...

Maybe history will show everyone of this period with their heads bowed, tapping away at small handheld devices in stead of just organically communicating with the universal net by using their implanted telepathic relays.

I would agree that talking on the phone can be a definite mood lifter. But when I'm really struggling, I get in my pjs, make myself a hot chocolate or herbal tea (depending what kind of pampering I feel like), and curl up in my bed and watch favourite films/tv shows (Buffy and Friends come to mind, or any Disney film).

For the past couple of years I have chosen 3 words which I aim to focus on other the coming year.  At the beginning of 2013 I chose the words Positivity, Prioritize, and Love (you can read the full post here). Honestly, I'm n...

At the beginning of 2012 I was filled with overwhelming enthusiasm for the coming year. I felt excited and ready to face my best year ever.  2012 turned into one of the worst years of my life. At the beginning of 2013 I didn’...

One thing that is often recommended for those of us living with chronic disabilities such as M.E. is to keep an 'energy diary'. Basically this means staying aware of how much we are resting, and how much low/medium/high activ...

If you follow me on Twitter, then you'll know that the past few weeks haven't been my best. My M.E. has reared it's head, causing me to struggle to do the few things I had previously been able to do without much issue (such a...

This year on New Year's day my brother invited everyone in our family round for a roast. It was delicious and followed by boardgames (and a power cut), and I think it may be the beginning of a new tradition - I hope so.

I can so relate to what you mean about wanting to be 'the girl with books'. For most of my life I pretty much collected books, just to have lots of them. However, I don't reread most books, as I usually prefer to be excited by something new. For the past few years I have been slowly decluttering all my stuff, including books. Of course there are some that I've kept to reread, but mostly I have found that donating books gives me such a release as I know someone else will be able to experience them, and I don't feel constrained by space, so am able to buy new books when I see them (though I mainly borrow from the library).

I am curious on your thoughts on digital books though, as I don't delete them off my kindle once I've finished them, simply because they don't take up space.

I have been donating books for years to make room for new ones but I still find it hard to let them go. Digital books do take up space so I archive them after I read them. I usually keep 4-5 active at a time along with 1-2 audio books.

The first time I read 'Little Women' I loved it, but the second time found it far too preachy, but I still love the film. This year I am reading 'The Christmas Cookie Club' by Ann Pearlman and am loving it, it's definitely getting me in the Christmas spirit.

Introduction
I'm 25 and only beginning to find myself. I am many things including a crafter, a book enthusiast, a writer and a dreamer but I have spent too long hiding behind these titles and now I am looking for the girl behind the labels.  I am searching for meaning and connection - I love getting to know people and being nosey about their lives - though for now I have to limit this from behind a screen as I suffer from M.E. - thank the gods for the internet!

I blog about all of these things and more at Empty Thoughts, Rewritten (if that's how you found me, please stop and say hi, and if even if you didn't, say hi anyway!).
